Missed out on the bourbon, but was happy to bump into these. Keeping my 2 week streak of no bourbon purchases alive!!!

Managed to find 2 bottles of Stagg Jr. for under $50 before tax in Maine today. Definitely was not expecting that!

Very nice. I got 2 four packs myself. Stashed them away in the crawl space to age, & took out my 2016 bottles to drink!

The plus is that it was on sale. The minus is that it strongly favors cough syrup. :D

Weller 12 for $35. First time I’ve found it on the shelf here in a solid 18 months. Plus I picked up a Russel Reserve 6 yr rye, which I’ve never had before.

2017 FRLE small batch.  Was on a list at a state store for two years and finally scored a bottle.

Grabbed another bottle of CEHT Small Batch for the back up stash.  Can't have too many of those.

I went back to a store to see if they still had an ECBP that I left last week.  I bought one and left one.  The sales clerk told me she sold the one on the shelf right before I came in.  My wife told me "whenever you see something rare that you like, you should never pass it up."  I think she meant it.

I am heading out of town for a work meeting next week.  Since I am the "bourbon guy," I suspect folks are hoping I will bring something interesting.  These aren't sophisticated bourbon palates so we aren't talking GTS or something rare but more something they might not have ever had and might enjoy.  I don't mind sharing the good stuff at home but rarely take prized bottles on the road.  I had a feeling that it was about time for Kroger to be running a 30% off sale so I thought I might stop in a pick up a mid-tier bottle and the local Kroger continues to upgrade their products.  I convinced my wife to stop in to pick up some "moon drop" grapes.  If you have never had them, they are awesome.  Guess what, they had a two day 30% off sale.

I ended up with a couple of bottles FRSB for $23.79 each, a bottle of Bakers for $34.29, and a bottle of RRSmBSB for $38.49.  These are awesome prices for Indiana.  I popped one of the FRSB and it is really good.

Oh, I will take the other FRSB and a FR OBSK on the road with me.  That will give them the chance to compare a standard offering and a private selection.

I have always found Krogers in KY to have solid offerings and prices.  Stores in the Indy area are starting to up their game, both in selection and price.

Those are incredible prices anywhere, I think. Is ECBP hard to come by in Indiana or were you looking for a certain batch?

I just bought an ECBP batch C917 after work today. This is the first I’ve seen it so I figured I should scoop one up. Might not stay closed long.

Yeah, it is difficult to find.  I have had a couple of bottles held for me in the past.  I have bought 4 other bottles off the shelf.  In this instance, a fellow SBer had told me of a store where he had seen a bottle.  A few weeks later, I happened to be in the area and saw a bottle on the shelf (B517).  I asked the price and, since it was $59.99 (a good price in the current market), I bought one.   She grabbed one from under the shelf.  I left the other one on the shelf.

I had seen 4 bottles of A117 on the shelf at two different stores while traveling earlier in the year.  I bought one.  I should have bought two but I wasn't sure what else I might find while hunting on that trip.

Gotcha, I didn’t realize that. Sounds like it’s probably a little easier to find where I’m at but it’s also more expensive (usually $67+)

Finally freed up some (3-4 bottles) worth of real estate in the cabinet.

Going to pick up a Hancock Reserve for a Thanksgiving mash bill 2 tasting I'm doing for some cousins who have dipped their toe in the sour mash waters.

Also have heard about a strong barrel of RRSiB that I'm going to try out.
