I made a run to the other side of town to shop a few spots I've never been.  Found several SAOS bottles, including a Ten SmB (2015), a SiB 10 ('16), and a SiB 11 ('16).  All Sarah picks.  There was a SiB 10 James too.  Left 6-8 of each SiB 10 on the shelf.

I was supposed to get a 4R SiB pick to make my 4R collection 7/10, but got distracted by KCSiB PS that were 14 yr.  Guess I'll have to back...

Hunting season is officially over for FacePlant. Picked up some ETL, RHF, HWMWND, & a red bag with matching bottle. Passed on Hancocks Reserve, any and all 4R (yeah I know) Stagg Jr., and SPs W107. If my better half had any idea of the net cost of my addiction......well let's just say it could cost me 1/2 of my bunker. It's been a most shameful two months and now I can relax, pour a measure, and rest on the thought I should have sent my son to Princeton instead. TG it's over. <_<

Not me but I thought this purchase today was amusing. A friend of mine is traveling out of state and stopped into a store randomly. He saw a bunch of Four Roses LE small batch, on the shelf, with no 1-per limit or anything posted. It was priced at $130, but, wait for it........ if you bought 6 or more bottles the price went down to $100 each. He bought at least 6, not sure if more

This is hilarious, but also a glimpse of what could happen in an alternate reality where there was no bourbon craze.

Congrats on a successful, even if somewhat stressful and costly bourbon hunting season. I guess if you want to feel a little better about the cost, think of the stress you would have felt if you had not been as successful as you were! Sometimes the problems we have are still better than the alternatives. I know that's how I've been dealing with the cost of my bourbon hunting luck this year...but I also agree that it's sometimes better if our better half doesn't know everything.

Ten miles of walking with 14 pounds of holiday toffee gifts for liquor store owners and key employees-- but pleased to find a dusty bottle of Booker's Rye (and more) in NYC today...

With rumors flying of 4R cutting back on their cask strength private picks, I thought I should grab another of each of my 2 absolute favorite recipes (of the 10),  before anything changes that might prevent future "obtainem".

Anyway, these showed up in the mail recently and I finally got around to "checking them in".

Yeah, probably a bit overpriced, but it seems like my area struggles to get 4R PS lately.

Not sure if this counts my first purchase since I was back home for Thanksgiving, otherwise well over a month.

Ok a lot high proofed stuff in that BTAC line up and I think some of that beer might have a higher ABV%. I look forward to being drunk through most of Christmas and need to start early with my coffee. Should be interesting as I normally don't even put sugar in my 5 cups of coffee each day.

I’ve seen Bookers rye popping up at a bunch of places in the city all of the sudden, not sure where they’re all coming from.

Life is a fine balance of stimulants and depressants.
