What Bourbon did you purchase today (Fall 2018)

I managed to pick up a NCF OWA store pick.  Been a good long while since I have been able to grab an OWA store pick near me.

Duh, thanks for the post mine also states distilled in Indiana. It’s batch two. Just had a small pour, really good but it seems a very different profile from the 5-6 barrels of SAOS I’ve had.

My Bottle is nothing like any of the SAOS bottles I have had. To me it has a very different flavor profile. I HATE dickel and do feel like it’s leaning a hair in that direction. Just my opinion. I’ll finish the bottle I cracked, but won’t purchase another.

Was lucky enough to snag an ETL, Blantons Store Pick, and a OWA today. Good day on the hunting trail, bad day for the checking account. Still holding out hope for a BTAC this year. Doing this a few years now and have yet to get one.

I got 2 OWA PS from 2 stores. The other 4 stores flaked and didnt send notifications. Man those barrels go fast. Missed the store ive been waiting on all year but managed to get a NCF finally.

Nice, I saw online it was raining OWA everywhere today in Nashville. Unfortunately I didn't get a chance to pick one up. Enjoy!

The Bourbon Gods were most certainly smiling down on me today. Had a friend in FL do the TW Grand Reserve sale for BTAC and Van Winkle allocation today. While it will take a few months to make its way north to me, I have a bottle of Eagle Rare 17yr. I was floored that he was able to get anything thru the TW mess, but he did and did it in style as well! Can't wait to get my hands on that bottle, that is for sure.

Doesn't matter, once open you're going to keep going to Weller anyhow....

BTAC and VW bottles hit my part of Maryland yesterday. Grabbed the OE BP at one store for $37 each. Bought a second based on the buzz and because I liked the one bottle of OE7 101 I had. Left a few on the shelf. Stopped at another store and wasn’t going to buy anything but as I was leaving I spied an ORVW behind the counter. It had a note on it but figured I’d ask. Counter guy had a half dozen bottles that were all spoken for but offered me a Lot B, THH or GTS, all at 2x retail. I’ve got a couple bottles of THH at home and love it, but I bit on the GTS. It’s a favorite of mine and I’m weak. I still have a few irons in the fire but happy to have at least one LE for the season.

Every time I start to get my bottle count under control I go out and end up with 2-3 more! Excited to try the EB and 1910. The JDSiBBP is a store pick and really good so I grabbed a second one.

I’d open the 750. Never seen a 1L and think the slightly larger bottle is kind of cool.

That's awesome that stores have it and are selling it. Yes its 2x retail but that is less than most would ask. I can't imagine ever walking into a store anymore and being offered a BTAC or VW product at any price. I think the last time I saw any of them on a shelf without being behind a counter was an ORVW in maybe 2011 or so and that was marked at $100 even back then.

Just returned from a brief trip to KY and MI. Got a bunch of stuff, including 16 KCSB picks. I was hoping to find some 4R picks, but no luck, but I did find two bottles of HH6BIB for the bunker. Looking forward to trying the OE Barrel Proof and OF 1910, as those are not available in VA.

 

I also got some Armagnac (Dartigalongue 1975, 1986, 1988, and Delord 1987).

Nice backyard deck with some nice fall foliage. What’s maybe even nicer is all that barrel aged spirits. Your pics of these hauls you bring back always amaze and you always seem to throw in a few nice Armagnac.

I do stupid things sometimes (Ok, I realize that's not exactly a big revelation). Bought this FR set today. It's not stupid because it's FRYL, or tan label or whatever we're calling it these days. I really like this bourbon with cigars and have a few bottles stashed away. It's not stupid because of what I paid for it, just $18.99. It's stupid because I bought it for the glasses! Apparently the 4,263 or so whiskey glasses I already have aren't enough, so I had to get more. I mean, they're nice, but what the hell was I thinking?

I don't think it's possible to have too many glasses. I bought a FRYL set with a pint glass earlier this year for the insane price of $9.99. Should have loaded up.
