WTRB with a cube on my Cardinals 1982 WS champion coaster. Damn I miss baseball.

Felt like a Turkey kinda night - starting off with some WTRB before leveling up with some WTMK Revival.

Thematic bourbon drinking is always fun and Turkey is always great!

I really like the 116.8 proof.

Decided it was time to give this one a try.  ECBP C919.  I have heard great things and I was not disappointed.  Nice spicy entry with the oak, cherry, and vanilla profile I enjoy in EC.   Nice oily texture and fairly long finish.  I still see this on the shelves which, in and of itself, is rare for ECBP.  Normally, I have to ask since they keep it in the storeroom.  I will look to pick up another bottle.

Earlier it was ETL followed by a shower and then ice water to drink, not wash in, before dinner.  Am now watching a replay of Game 2 of the 2019 NLDS - Nats at Dodgers.

So, what’s in my old fashioned glass?  Neat OGD BIB.

After a long afternoon and evening working on a little project out in the garage, it's nice to pour some ECBP and kick back.  This stuff is pretty effective for a sore back! ?

That's a great batch!  My second favorite of all time right after C07-B-7.  Glad I have one more of each somewhere in the basement...

I have a couple of each of those and I don't think I've ever opened either of  those batches.  I'm glad you shared this because now I have something to look forward to!  ?

You inspired me.  Well, to be honest it doesn't take much to get me to pull the 4RLESmB 2016 from the shelf.  I know the '16 is not especially ballyhooed within 4R LE circles. but I personally enjoy it and think it's a bit underrated.  I find it to be a great representation flavor-wise for those of us who consider ourselves be Lawrenceburg men.  ?       ???? ?

This 4R junkie thinks it's very nice.  The '16 was underrated by some, but personally I rank it very high.  Love the oak that powers through it !

Indeed.  However, still think I will be gravitating to Rare Breed for $7 more or WT101 for $12 less more often then not.

That said that 90 pf is rather nice when starting early.  Today is suppose to be garden day, so hopefully that 4RYL is good and chilled by now!

Yup, me too.  I don't drink the RR10 very often either. In fact even though i have one somewhere I haven't opened one for a couple of years.

RR10 is $22 here. I have to say I’m on RR train! Would it change your mind at that price?

That's a great price. I would definitely buy one at that price as a change-of-pace and a weeknight pour on occasion. But I still prefer the bold Turkey flavor of the 101 outright, regardless of price.  I'm not a "high proof is always better" kind of guy, but I do think the WT recipe in particular just works better at 101 and above for some reason.

For me, the WT recipe works well at all proofs. Even the lowly 81 will work if there's no other option at a restaurant. Having a number of their whiskies open at home gives me something for any mood I happen to be in.

You can make this yourself.  Recipe courtesy of another poster, (I forget who).  I've made several batches over the years and everyone who has tried it, loves it.   Use the cheapest, lowest shelf juice in your bunker. I use EW green label, the one in the plastic bottle.

I use a stick blender to mix it, and use 4 TBS of honey.  Follow the recipe, exactly,   and most of it will fit in a 750ml bottle, with just enough left over to mix with  a cup of coffee.  Make sure to stick it in a screw top bottle.

Kind of had this hid I suppose, or just have managed to have forgotten I had an extra bottle of this.  I went through the other pretty quickly.

You know, I have Four Roses barrel picks and LE pours pretty regularly, and I’ve had Small Batch Select quite a few times recently, and I realized I haven’t had their staples in quite a while. So tonight I’m drinking regular ol’ single barrel. It still seems to work

It is difficult to go wrong with Four Roses.

I opted for Smooth Ambler BP Rye, Eagle Rare and ECBP while watching Season 1 of Cheers.  My favorite television show of all time.

Saturday evening on the deck with my lovely wife, while she enjoyed a glass of wine, I had some EW BIB with my favorite side dish, dark chocolate covered cranberries.

Sunday night, after a nice grilled steak, asparagus and potatoes my son and I retired to the family room/bar to watch some Star Wars.  I started with a 15 year KC SiB, followed that with some RY 100, which though a little young I'm starting to like a bit more and finished the night with a pour of Blood Oath Pact 4.
