A Wild Turkey evening so far.

Earlier WT101, now sipping WTRB 116.8.

Cheers

Started with an EC12 from a bottle with the red 12 on the front.  I have never known how to date the EC bottles, anyone know?  This one has a laser code A2684 on the back.  This one is a little older than most of the other red letter EC12's that I have.  It has a natural cork instead of that composite cork that later bottles had.  Those with the composite cork also have a laser code with more digits than this one.

Unfortunately my pour of Dant was much smaller since it was low, so I dont feel like it necessarily got a fair shake. But last night JTS Brown inched of HH BIB for the top spot

Very interesting, I think the JTS don't get as much coverage as some of the others.  I've been meaning to do a flight of HH BIBs.  I still have a bottle of the HH in my stash just for that.  I haven't found JTS BIB too often around here but I would probably also add EW BIB to my mix.

I was wanting to include EW BIB. I may pick up a bottle of it this week and revisit this next weekend.

My buddy got the JTS Brown for me. I think he got it in KY.

Daughter turned 3 yesterday. Made it a MM night with some RC-6 followed by some CS.

Picked a few bottles of this up in my drive back from Vegas. As the evening cools off, I’ll sit here and enjoy a pour. This is my first 1972 FP and store pick at that.

Watching a replay of fame 7 of the '19 Cup Final while enjoying this lovely pour. No, it's not actually WTKS. It's 2 parts WTRB and 3 parts Russell's Reserve 10 yr. It's 100.72 proof. This marriage is cheaper than WTKS, and is up there with the best barrels of it that I've had.

The Misses made a batch of oatmeal chocolate chip and peanut butter chip cookies. The cookies and WT are a match made in heaven.

That sounds like a great blend idea. Next time I have those bottles open I will definitely try this.

Interestingly, I also had oatmeal chocolate chip cookies that I made with the kids tonight. Paired it with ECBP B517. This is my least favorite batch, and I am trying to finish off the last 200ml or so, it has been open long enough. It was quite enjoyable tonight.

Did a blind sbs of Stagg Jr. batches 12 and 13.  I guessed them correctly. Batch 12 was heavy red fruits and burnt brown sugars with a rich nose. Long finish. Batch 13 was brighter with hints of apple. Had a bit of dusty corn. Short burst of oaky finish but batch 13 had a really nice soft feel to it though. I preferred the rich nose, darker notes, and longer finish of the 12. The 13 was more like a regular Buffalo Trace at barrel proof. Still great but in very different way. It couldn't compete with the depth of 12.

That nicely sums up my comparison of the two.

Friday night was some WTKS and then some WTRB.  Been a while since I visited the KS.  Really good and it slightly edged out the RB.

Took Saturday off and last night while watching Star Wars Revenge of the Sith (my son and I are going through all the movies chronologically) I made it a 4R night with the 2019 SmB LE and then a BP 8 yr. 11 mo. OBSV at 126.6 proof.  The 2019 LE was the clear winner.

Despite vowing to drink less during the week, started off a Monday afternoon with a HW Bourye Limited Sighting.  Tasty!

Hm!   I haven't posted for about a year.   Hope everyone is doing okay at home!  We've got a high-energy 2.5 year old distracting my wife and I while we both try to work from home.  I get about an hour a night for relaxing after his bedtime and before mine...

Desperate times call for desperate measures.  Like many, I'm pouring out some special bottles while we're sheltering at home.  The Four Roses Mariage 2009 (before the name change to SmBLE) remains one of the best whiskies I have ever tasted.  The glass looks a little odd because it has a nifty factory defect, the inside bottom is slanted and knobby.
