I stopped at a store I only visit a couple of times a year. I passed on Old Fitz (11 yr?) BIB  @ $399.99, Blanton’s @ $139.99, and a number of other outrageously priced items. Even their cheap stuff was expensive. They had EW BIB @$27.99.

I stopped by a local chain grocery this morning on a whim and they had Blanton's on sale for $62.99; the shelf was empty so can I say I passed on it?

I passed on the Old Ezra 7 year barrel strength. Hadn’t seen it for a while so it caught my eye. But it was $55 this time, and at that price it’s an easy pass for me

I pass at $36 all the time. Just not a fan. Wish they still sold the 7/101. This new stuff doesnt taste anything like the old product. I never read if they started sourcing it fromsomewhere else.

I like it fairly well but agree it's not like 7/101. I've never seen it for $36. Cheapest I believe was $40 to $45. It's been here lately for $50 and that's a pass.

Do you know if its the same bourbon just bottled at barrel proof? I just cant taste any similarities to 7/101

Passing on the more readily “available” CEHT offerings at two different LLS stops this otherwise nice morning in the Bay Area:

SmB - $69.99

Straight Rye - $99.99

SiB - $119.99

Passed on McKenna BIB at $90 and several Weller expressions from $130 up.

But they had Michter's SB for $39 so I bought that.

Passed on several bottles today.

Blantons $400

Eagle rare 10y $60

W12 $200

They had 5-6 pvw bottles i didnt ask about and a ceht barrel proof. The lower shelf bottles was a couple dollars cheaper than most stores in the area though.

That's got to be a record for Blanton's.

I thought she was mistaking, i asked twice. The trend i notice is the stores with the higher prices always have the best collection.

That’s because anyone worth their salt isn’t buying any of it.

Tempted by the specs and the fact that I'd like to find something more like the MGP stuff in Belle Meade Cask, but I couldn't *roll the dice* at $44.

Bottled in Bardstown, Distilled in Indiana, Single Barrel, Barrel Proof 110.7, 4 years old, High rye mash bill, Store pick.

Probably a smart move. Hard to trust craft sometimes.

It's probably decent quality sourced from MGP in Indiana.

My problem is 4 years old and $44, seems a bit steep.

Left little book #4 on the shelf for $120.

Haven't bought any of them, not starting today...

I’ll waste my money on other stuff ?.

That’s a shame considering how good LB3 is.

I agree with LB3 being a fantastic release. What in the world was Freddie thinking when he concocted LB2?

Hopefully we're wrong about LB4, but slapping a $120 price tag on something that includes 4 year rice whiskey seems like he's not even trying to appeal to bourbon enthusiasts. More like he's trying to attract the folks that want something different and that has an uber premium price tag.

Also that's from the same house that released an excellent KC12. oh well...
