Trip to Madison, WI today to drop off wedding rings for inspection/cleaning/plating. Total Wine across the street wanted me to bring these home. Lousy pic, decent whiskey. ?

Nice haul Mike. That WT Rye isn’t 81 proof is it? ;)

Finally killed off a couple bottles, and it just so happened that there was a liquor store on the way to my trip to the hardware store.

Picked up a VOB 100 big boy today. I NEVER see it in my area; my LS only got one in, so must be a lucky fluke.

Thanks Phil.;)

I find it hard to resist a private pick. Hell, if I hadn't bought so much stuff recently, I probably would've bought a handle. Even though I have a liter of BT open right now, you can bet your boot straps that I'm gonna open one of these up and have a taste or two. I remember buying a ps BT handle from this same store a few years ago, and it was a number of weeks before I opened it up. It was freaking awesome! I went back to buy more, and they'd sold the last bottle a week or so prior. I ain't gonna make that mistake again.

Picked up a KC 12 yr today. Wasn't expecting to hit the liquor store, but thought - what the hell. Grabbed the first thing that caught my attention.

After two pours tonight, I'd say I'm quite happy with it.

I still feel a little foolish about the 81 proof WT Rye I bought you thinking that it was 101 proof. ?  Maybe I can make it to you for your birthday. Tomorrow. ?

I once tried a sbsbs of 101 rye, 81 rye, and 101 proofed down to 81 using the proof calculater. The real 81 and my 81 tasted quite different, even having rested for a day. I'm thinking it was the water. 81 isn't so bad... Unless you are doing it yourself

Yesterday I passed on a Russell's Reserve Private Barrel.   Got up this morning and this was the birdbath:

Got in the car and came back with this:

I've been on a tear lately.  Yesterday, I found a bottle of Bookers at a reasonable price $89.  Note:  noticed two stores having it and selling for $119 - $129/ bottle.  I also came home yesterday with my first Willet.  It's not the purple label but the Pot Still Reserve.  Finally picked up a cheap one that I've never seen:  a Very Old Bartons 100 Proof for $20.

I was also accused of being a flipper yesterday.  I had to tell them that was frowned upon by the great forum Straight Bourbon and I plan on drinking every single drop of everything that I buy.  Maybe not all on the same night, but the reason to buy it is to drink it.  Made them smile.

Warehouse F, Floor 6.  Barrel #19-1823.

The barrels from the 6th floor of Camp Nelson F are anywhere from incredibly good to phenomenal (yes, that's coming from a huge turkey fan).

VOB 100 is great. One of the great bargains.

That's almost scary.  In an inspiring way.  Enjoy! ?

I decided to take the plunge. I have so many WT expressions, why not add another to the bunker. Hahaha.

Cheers
