And, surprise surprise, I was not a fan of this when I opened it a week ago. It is starting to become a little bit more palatable to me now but I'm struggling to drink enough of it to allow it to fully breathe with more liquid gone. I feel like wine finished, port finished, sherry finished, etc whisk(e)y's, it smells and taste musty like dirty gym socks. Trying to get over that but this journey sucks man. It's hard to give specific recommendations these days given cost and availability. Two of my favorite whiskies ever are WT Revival and an Armagnac finished Sagamore rye. But everyone is different. This is amazing. At this rate, our bottles will outlast all cockroaches.
JCwhammie
Some OF Statesman while listening to music and enjoying the freshly mowed grass. This is, without question, my favorite time of the year. And this pour helps with the enjoyment factor tonight.

StarSurfer55
It was my birthday today. Went out for dinner then back home for cake and ice cream. Now having a bit of ECBP to end the day. Getting older really sucks.

markandrex
Having some GTS to celebrate my birthday. The wife is taking me out to a really nice steak and bourbon bar tonight. I’m going to have to review their selections and indulge some there. Cheers!

jpb5151
Trying some Knob Creek rye tonight, 1st time. OK but getting sort of a musty smell for some reason. I like the KC9 bourbon better.
mbroo5880i
Strong storm came through earlier this evening causing my soccer match to be cancelled. Decided on a pour of Remus Repeal Reserve IV after finishing my chores. Following the rain, some ducks decided to play in my neighbor's yard by his pool. The beagle was beside herself since a fence separated her from her new playmates. When I stepped out on the deck, she looked back at me as if to say "Do you see this?" Then she came up on the deck to bark at them some more. Edited May 7, 2021 by mbroo5880i

GaryT
Been a helluva long week, so capping it off (or kicking off the weekend?) with a bottle-kill pour of a Rutledge gift shop 11 yr 9 mo OBSO. I wouldn't say "they don't make it like this" - because they do still make it . . . just wish they'd let it sit this long!! Cheers SB!

markandrex
Opened an ETL, man it has been awhile. Last night when we got home the wife gave me a present. Her statement was, “I know you like Wild Turkey, I hope this is good”. I told her no, it’s great! I must have done something very right 40 years ago when we met. I am a lucky man!
Clueby
Picked up a new store pick of OF SB BP today so it was inspiration to pour some from the one I already have open. I'll probably sbs these when the first one is almost gone. Edited May 8, 2021 by Clueby
Cornfed12
Figured I’d try it bc why not. Seems to be an ok pour, does anyone know who they source from?
Kepler
It's a Lawrenceburg Night for me. Earlier it was RR10 and now some Bulleit Blender's Select. Or at least I assume the Bulleit is mostly from 4R anyway; tastes like it to me.

I don't know where it's sourced from (never researched it) but I have bottles from 2 different store pick single barrels. One is absolutely fantastic and the other is awful and might very well end up being a drain pour whenever I come across it inside the cabinet again. Sincerely hoping you got a good one. You have a 50-50 chance per my own experience. Good luck!
