I’m lamenting the possible loss (fire) of one of the better Italian restaurants here. The Capri. Great lasagna. Damn! Biba! Joe Weller step ladder tonight. My fears may have been confirmed. https://www.wifr.com/2022/10/29/capri-building-condemned-after-fire/ Not a five star restaurant by any means, but a place you could count on to have good food and friendly employees. The irony in this is that we hadn’t been there in quite a while until just a few weeks ago. We had a small family get together to go to a comedy show at a nice local venue. It was me and my wife, my wife’s sister and her husband, and her sisters daughter (our niece), and her husband @Galvin0791. We decided to have dinner at The Capri before heading out to the comedy show. Like I said, ironic. Biba! Joe
IamMatt
Sorry to hear that. Always sad to lose a restaurant like that. Perhaps a toast with a glass of Chianti is in order.

Richnimrod
I poured about 1.5 oz. into a Glencairn from a nearly full bottle (from about 5-or-6-years ago) that I hadn't hit in a long while. 1792 Full Proof, private pick from my favorite (only, basically) monger. I helped pick this one, and remember it as one of the two best picks of 1792 FP I've tasted . . . I've probably only ever tasted about 10- picks, so that isn't saying a ton. On the other hand, I've never tasted a FP that wasn't a decent pour, and some of the picks were/are a step or two up from that very consistent level of quality. I enjoyed it very well with about a 1/4 oz. of water (added a few drops at a time), thank you very much. I can't imagine why it's been so long since I hit this bottle! I still have one more back, so that's not it. Just an embarrassment of riches as far as great Bourbons to pour, I guess.

Harry in WashDC
After awhile covering outdoor furniture for the Winter (while gusts kept blowing the damn tarp off the pile before I could get the bungy cords affixed), and then removing tomato cages and the dead tomato bits from the garden, I settled in to watch college football about which I care nothing, but stuff moves on the tv and keeps me somewhat awake until dinner. Is a perfect time to finish off low volume bottles. I really liked JB bonded as homogenized as it is/was which seems to be off the market, so I finished off about 1.5 oz. And pitched the bottle. Next up was a quick and small snort of 4R YL while I folded laundry. NOW, while Dusty Baker’s Astros are leading the Phillies, I’m hitting good old OGDBIB. ASIDE - You whippersnappers better not snicker. Someday if you are lucky, you, too, will celebrate the ability to get out of bed, get dressed, do some chores, and fall asleep before dinner. I’m still mystified as to why the Lerners let Dusty leave the Nats, and in spite of the Astros past history of cheating, Dusty sure cleaned up the team. He deserves a Series win as a manager imo.
flahute
RR13 is just so, so good. Been having some every night since I bought it so I took it downstairs to "the cabinet" for safekeeping as it's been going too fast!

Wedelstaedt
I’ve been enjoying a few from the WTKS, I picked up a month or two ago. I appreciate this barrel. Enough off profile to be curious, but still all Wild Turkey. So great. Cheers

Me, I've been hanging out in the rye whiskey space tonight, with WP, THH and M10 Rye. Since the Flock has taken flight, I think I'll join ya with a WT Rye. Cornerstone sounds good!

CaptTim
I started the evening with couple of fingers of Rebel 100 then finished with my personal favorite KC 12. Fishing was very slow today high blue bird sky and no wind. Friday fishing was good, no real biggins but good numbers.

IamMatt
Started with a sip of Stellum, tasted bad. Switched to my Eagle Rare/Benchmark FP blend, it tasted bad. Switched to Ezra Brooks Distiller's Collection store pick, it tasted bad. I panicked a little because we had just had a big dinner with the family, two of whom had recently had Covid (both times I had it before alcohol tasted awful) but I switched to red wine and all was right with the world. Some days, your palate is just off.
