If I could turn back time, Cher would still be singing with Sonny and I would be crushing on that girl in 7th grade.

Wow, a different pour every 21 minutes.  This could be a short night or a long night.  Either way, it sounds like it will be an enjoyable night! 😉

Ha! A couple pre dinner pours. Will be a long pause before anything else gets poured otherwise I'll be asleep on the couch by 9pm.

LOL! I so love your self proclaimed cheap bastard status. Hold your ground! As for me, it's always the same price here - never a sale - so I've been steadily stocking up the past couple years.

Obviously, many of us were spoiled by well aged 12-15 year old KC SiB store picks.  However, as a batch product, this is one of the best releases over the past 5 years.  Frankly, if ECBP 12-yr @ $75 is still a good deal to me, then $65 for a 12-year old batched version of one of my favorite whiskeys - Knob Creek - should be a good deal too.  Sometimes, I over think things.

Haha...my pre dinner pour was EC Rye.  I really like it.  Yet with more Hallmark Christmas movies this evening (yes, I am missing college football), bourbon and sleep might be a better option.

Ha! Well I have to say I have a sappy side that can embrace Hallmark Christmas shows during the holidays but right now I'm watching Alabama and LSU so I wish you could join me!

I enjoy some of the Hallmark movies too.  It depends on the movie.  But, I believe this is already Christmas movie #10 since November 1.  I guess Lifetime also has Christmas movies. The TV was on the Christmas Story Movie before this.  I think I need more bourbon. 😀

Did I mention my wife had me get the Christmas decorations out so she can start putting everything out THIS week?  Did I mention I think I need more bourbon? 😀

I bought this bottle strictly on its name.  We have been yearly visitors to Cumberland Falls in Kentucky for many decades.  Distilled and bottled by Owensboro Distilling.  I expected it to be poor, but am pleasantly surprised.  It’s a decent pour.  Nothing off tasting.  Nice nose, thick legs on the glass.  Light tasting with not a lot going on but it has some solid bourbon characteristics and flavors.  Some creamed corn, light cinnamon, and a maltiness.  Finish is just average.  Not great, but no complaints anywhere with it.

Awesome! We visited Cumberland Falls a lot when I was kid. It is about as Kentucky as it gets which is good!

Good to hear the namesake KSBW is enjoyable!

Here’s to The Astros & Kepler, A Huge Fan of The ‘ Stros.  I believe Kepler is also a big Wild Turkey fan, so this pour is for him.

Very cool pic!  You're a good fan.  I was able to get to Minute Maid Park to attend ALCS game #2 against the Yankees and nothing beats a post season baseball game.

My GTS pour was only to celebrate games 4 and 5 wins, not the series.  Trust me, with our 4th world series appearance lately, I've learned to never get ahead of yourself, and my approach is to celebrate each and every single game win with a special celebratory pour;  you never know when or if the next one will come.  Congrats on a great season so far -- the Phillies hitters are amazing at the plate.

Enjoy the remaining game(s)  ... [hopefully only one more, haha 😉]

Congrats,  Kepler,  to you, Dusty Baker and the 'Stros.   We had the lead last night and gave it right back.  One team won it all but I think the sport gained new adherents with a postseason that had it all.

Phils are NL Champs and will hoist a gonfalon next spring.   But for now, I'll pour a Rare Breed Rye in honor of the new World Champs.

Yeah, CF is a great place.  Outside of missing a couple years recently due to Covid, this last Summer’s visit was my wife’s 49th.  I’ve been going with her every year since 1983 (except for the same 2 Covid years.  We meet several other families from all over the country for our CF “Family Reunion”.  Probably 50-60 people there this year.
I did some research on the CF bourbon.  Owensboro Distilling is an NDP.  The whiskey for CF was distilled at Green River  (FKA OZ Tyler).  I don’t know if it was simply sourced, or contract distilled, however, as that distillery does a lot of that.  While only 4 years old, I will attribute the solid bourbon-y notes to the fact that GR utilizes a 54” column still, and big boy cookers and fermenters.

Ha ha, apart from my bourbon studies, it's a MSc in Computing (Enterprise Software Systems). My current module is Cloud Architecture.

Hhhmmmm.  Cloud architecture.  Gavin Pretoria-Pinney, founder of the Cloud Appreciation Society (www.cloudappreciationsociety.org) wrote a book published in 2006 called, “The Cloudspotter’s Guide”.  Absolutely stunning photos and science re: clouds.  My copy now has marginal notes referring to pics I’ve taken so I can SEE what he’s writing about.  Is almost like a “birder’s life list of birds seen”.

edit - oh yeah, the thread . . . Today while the Wash Cdrs drop one to the Vikings (who are much better so why such a close game?), I am sipping on RY Single Barrel 100 proof 10 yr. over ice.  Never been a fan of RY but got this and figured I might like it based on SBers’ comments.  Neat it was blah and uninteresting.  Over a couple cubes, it got better as the cubes melted.  Two ounces in with two ice maker cubes and this is so sweet my teeth hurt, and it is so complex I cannot describe the visions dancing in my head.

Just goes to show — Not all bourbon geeks like all bourbons neat, and not all bourbons are best-consumed neat.  The combinations and permutations are endless at least until the bourbon runs out.

Just got finished unloading our tailgate gear, after feeding everyone at the "post-tailgate" while waiting for traffic to clear.

This was a heartbreaking loss, because I really thought that we had 'em. Oh well, we always win the tailgate.

Current situation is a pour if John J.Bowman, a Micallef Ambassador cigar, and Redzone on the back porch.

The C's are playing decent.  As a fan, who do you prefer Carson or Taylor?

If we're being honest?

None of the above.

Wentz has a great arm and is a big dude, but can't get out of his own way, like he did in Philly.

Heineke doesn't have an NFL caliber arm and he's too short.

That being said, both of them are victims of,  poor, predictable playcalling  Our O-line is bad.  I can go on and on and on...

We can trade O-lines and play callers.  The Colts 100 million dollar O-line gave up 9 sacks today.  Of course, the C's had Kirk Cousins.  The Curtis Samuel touchdown was crazy.

I am drowning my sorrows of the Colts 26-3 loss where the Colts offense gained 121 total yards while giving up only 203 total yards with a few pours of WT101.  Of course, it was good they traded Wentz, cut the kicker, benched Ryan, and fired the Offensive Coordinator.  When you blame and then get rid of everyone but the GM and coach, eventually you have no one else to hold accountable.  The post-game press conference was sad.  I have been a Colts fan through 1-15 seasons.  Yet, this team is among the worst.

Did I mention a few pours of WT101?  Who am I kidding?  I am going back for another.

I went to a few Colts games when they were still in Baltimore.

Watching the Titans/Chiefs game and  it's an ugly reminder of just how bad we are.

I believe that I'll join you.

That's KC12 in the glass.

Cheers!

I missed the beginning.  I turned it on in time to watch our kicker miss a FG from like the 20 yard line.  Then I got to see an intercepted Pats ball way in their territory lead to our only points, a good FG this time.  Hey, don't expect to win football games with no touchdowns.

Colts can't fight their way out of a wet paper bag if it's in fox burrow.

Owner should fire himself.

OF 100 time here.

A107, HM10, BBC Disc 7, Bookers 2022-2.

Some of the workshop attendees were Chileans who like bourbon and can get very little of it at home.  Working on getting them some OF (most of the normal products are sold here at good prices), HM10 (45 - $60), EW (not my favorite, but it's about what they like), and WT products while they are here.  And perhaps some 4R, BT, WRDO, WSR from my stock.

So far they really like the HM10.

PS:  Sticks, knives, and whiskey worked out OK.
