I started with a '08 WLarueW 125.3prf, neat.

Followed by a '07 Parker's Heritage 122.6prf, neat.

I have said it before but I am saying it again, I feel very fortunate and blessed to have bourbons like these.

Yesterday it was Overholt 1810, VOB 12 years and Seagram’s Benchmark, all bottled in the seventies. The Barton’s was the best and it has approved very much by oxidation and is now very good for an 86 proof bourbon. Today I have had WT 8 export, the same Barton again and another bottle from the seventies, a seven year’s old Old Hickory.

Trying desperately to finish off my bottle of Weller SR. So last night was another pour....only 2 more to go.

Four Roses SB. I am now half way through this bottle and although I like it, I still can't figure it out. I lose the finish on some pours.

Lose as in no finish or can't figure out what the finish consists of?

Started a long journey with an 04 ER17. Spectacular. I'm mixing a fair amount of heavy beers in tonight, but I'll leave room for an OCPR 13 yr... And...probably something else...:o

WLW '08 with a nice New York Strip. Nothing like grilling a quality steak with a fine bourbon in the middle of December.

Since winter has raced up on us with great anger, I figured that I would try the Four Roses hot toddy recipe in my new cup as a way to defrost.

I mixed it up just like the directions but I had to dump it out after a couple of sips. I think that I need to adjust the recipe because three cloves of garlic seems a bit excessive for such a small portion.

Okay, I hope to God you're kidding. But just in case you're not, that's three cloves of cloves not three cloves of garlic.

Merry Christmas.

A little ERSB w/nog followed by a very allocated pour of PVW15 (running low + price is getting too steep); capped the evening with my fav winter pour this year: VWFRR

That bourbon and garlic would have made a great marinade for my steak.

Pappy Van Winkle 15yo , the L&KS-BD.com-BE.com bottle from Julio's

Van Winkle Family Reserve Lot B

Old Rip Van Winkle 10yo 107prf

I love Santa but the Van Winkle family seems to come through with better stuff.

Not that is a MERRY CHRISTMAS... Who know, Maybe Pappy has stepped in as Old St. Nick in that Great Distillery in the sky - Old St. Pappy has a nice ring to it....

Almost time!

I am now just waiting for my wife to get dressed so I can escort her to the Christmas service at her Unitarian Universalist church.

Then when we get home it is me and OldSt.NickVanWinkle.

May the Christmas Angels share some of their share.

sipping this surprisingly interesting Benchmark. newer bottling, 80 proof predictability...but alot of nose and flavors that are unique enough.

We had our traditional Christmas Eve celebration with a house full of family and a great treat this year...My son and his family in from Hawaii (Hickham AFB) for the first time in three years! It was lots of fun...capped off by a pour of one of my favorites... PVW 20.

Merry Christmas!
