I had a pour of Elijah Craig 18 Year old.I had a wonderful nose of toffee, apple ,leather and some spicy rye and Oak.

This is a big Fat Bourbon with a lot of weight and a thick mouth feel.Lots of Glycerin .It has very good balance with a big Finish.

This was a very good bottle. It had a lot of flavor in the Mid-palate.Lots of Toffee,Earth and spicy rye. This bottle was barreled on 8-25-91 Barrel #2966.

This is the third bottle I have had that was barreled in 1991.All have been very good.

Getting to the bottom of a bottle of FR1B. This is the bottle that finally perked my interest in Four Roses. For some reason I was never all that impressed with previous bottles that made their way across my shelf.

Cheers to persistence -

Afternoon with 2008 Handy, evening with WT101 Rye and Pikesville Rye.

WT Rye is sweet and angry at the same time. Just wonderful. Would love to see the Pikesville at anything higher than 80.

Poured a 14 YO Willett that I particularly enjoy followed by the last of a bottle of OGD114 to make room for something, as yet to be determined, to be opened.

Early afternoon wedding and had an after dinner pour of Johnny Walker Black as the only other options were JD, JB white or VO. Home for a nap followed by OC Proprietor's Reserve, High West Rendezvous Rye and RR 101. Everything is tasting might fine tonight which means another small pour of WT 8 export bought off a store shelf here in good old squeaky clean Illinois

I had WT 01 from 81 before dinner yesterday and the last out of my tradition after. The old-timer defiantly found the spot better last night with its intense vanilla sweetness.

Yesterday Mr Postman was kind enough to drop a 200ml sample of Evan Williams 12yo 100prf Red Label on my doorstep.

All gone now, it was at first a little hot but I thought it got tame as the evening went along.

It had that classic HH/Parker taste, I preferred it neat after I tried a little water in a small pour.

I snatched a pic of the bottle from elsewhere, it's only available in Japan maybe Australia too, btw thanx 4 thinking of me Kevin.

What am I not drinking would be a better question.

A little bit of everything. I've recently reviewed WhistlePig Rye, Old Forester B-day 2010, and a comparison of Elijah Craig 12 and 18. Been sipping Rare Breed as well.

No such thing as too much bourbon.

ORVW 10/107 while hanging out on the back deck on a beautiful AUTUMN day. I think the Ravens just won too. Yay, or something. I'm not a sports fan, but the bourbon is good.

PHC 2010: one... incredible... pour.

As I enjoyed this in the early evening sun, I was struck by its rich, glorious mahagony color.

After perusing the thread earlier about the prices it is fetching on eBay, I poured myself about $20 worth of Weller Centennial. :)

I drank through my stash waaaay too fast. I still have 6 bottle in the bunker though :-)

Tonight I started with VSOF 12 , ER17 '09, and now Stagg '09.

I was wimpy and uninspiring last night when I poured a moderate amount of Makers 46 bypassing all the single barrel, barrel strength and dusty bottles in its path.

Beam 4 grains and uncut 13 years HH bottled by Cadenheads before dinner and OGD 114 right now. 114 found the spot best tonight.

Traded A friend a current Eagle Rare 10 for a 1988 Wild Turkey 101 8 Year Old.

Just opened the bottle. The cork was in bad shape so I put a new one on the bottle.

The color was fairly dark. The nose has some rye spices ,pepper, hint of Oak.

On the palate very good weight and balance.Smooth as silk, lot of corn flavors with a very long spice and peppery finish that last 40 seconds or longer. It had a real viscous and oily feel to it .I love the stuff.Too bad the current Wild Turkey is not like this.

This was a very good bottle.

Bonded Barton to start the night off. Which reminds me, I've gotta make some lamb meatballs before the lady gets home. Or else she might think I didn't do anything but hang around, drink whiskey, and smoke cigars all day.
