Had some Weller 12 last night. Enjoyed it, but thought I could do better. Poured a bit of PVW 15. Definitely better. Than I finally broke down and cracked open my sole PVW 20. Felt like the 15 was better, but it's early days with this bottle....

I'd be interested to see if your opinion changes on the Pappy 20...I have found that the Pappy 15 is a more complex and assertive pour where the Pappy 20 is more "correct".

Was the Weller 12 that you were pouring a current off the shelf bottling?

Killed a bottle of PVW 15 and a bottle of PVW 20 in great company last night. The bottles were rather low. They had it coming.

I've got a 15 and a 20 with about 3 fingers in each. Dying to have a few worthy friends over to kill them off.

After a long day working around my elderly parents yard and 5 trips to the dump with pine needles in 100 degree heat I am cooling down with Four Roses Yellow with lots of crushed ice and ginger.

AAA Ten year.

Was fine. I have been not wanting to think about what I'm drinking for the past few months and this fit the bill nicely.

I rarely drink in bed, but I'm capping my day with a Vintage 23 Rye while sitting pretty on an inflatable mattress in the den so I can sleep while my wife tends to our 1.5 week-old. Got a late start with a Binny's OBSF and a Ward 47. The OBSF has been erratic for me, tonight a bit too hot and somewhat sour. Koval's Ward 47 is the best younger whiskey I've ever tasted, bursting with clear, bright vanilla water and orange rind. The VR23 has opened up really well over the last month or two and brings a cold cherry preserve front with an oaky, grainy back end; the perfect dose to send me off to sweet dreams...

A couple of good ones so far.

Old Rip Van Winkle 10/107 and Four Roses Single Barrel, neat.

But later I will switch to diet orange soda pop, I got the Weber lit and the onions diced and I'm going to grill up some Hebrew Nationals.

I've got an '88 Old Forester 86 that I haven't pulled from in a while. Enjoying a nice evening on the front porch with OF, Padilla Achilles and a book.

EC12... Just opened a new bottle. Leather and dark chocolate type nose. Spicey, slightly woody, white chocolate and oatmeal?? taste... somewhat earthy as well. A nice lingering finish as well... peppery lips. I like this.

Yep, the good Rev Craig can be all over the place, say Amen.

I'm sipping some 4RSmB, neat.

A word of advice: When you run out of room in your bunker, your wife will NOT think it's a good idea to store wine boxes full of whiskey under the baby's crib. Trust me, I know from experience.

Sitting back relaxinging after just returning home from a horrendously long biz trip that had me driving 1,300 miles in the last 2 days. Sipping on a John J. Bowman Single Barrel 100 proof that I picked up along the way. I'm too gassed From the trip to form a cogent review, but I am enjoying it. Particularly, the finish. Dry, smokey, chewy, and quite enduring. Early Joey poll is giving it a thumbs-up.

A week and a half old baby? Keep the bottles close my friend, you will need it  .

Good advice on a few levels: 1) her shuddering cries elicit a panic I've never felt, and bourbon can counter-act that panic. 2) when she finally passes out in my arms, I am stuck in whatever position I happen to be in at that time. That bottle better be within an arm's reach, or I'm dry until I can afford to move her to the crib!

Hmmm... under the crib - brilliant! My bunker is various shelves in the back of my closet. I really need to find some time to pull everything out because it's hard for me to really get a sense of what I have back there.

McScrooge's bottling of Buffalo Trace, with one ice cube, before heading out to dinner.

WT Old#8 Brand from Nov 92. I got rid of two bottles of this recently. Now I am kicking myself in the rear for doing so.
