Been on vacation the last few weeks. The first part was a cruise and I brought a bottle of Corner Creek along with my wine, and paid a corkage for it :). It was the most wine bottle looking bourbon i could find. Definitely worked for my nightcaps and was better than what was available on the cruise ship. Prior to the cruise I also bought a bottle of dickel single barrel, the 9 yr, and a RRSB. Drank most of the RRSB on the rest of my vacation and took a couple of sips from the Dickel.

Yellow label tonight. Tastes good as always. One thing I enjoy about this bourbon is that despite the low proof there are enough threads woven through it you can taste something new almost everytime you drink it.

had friends over for a b-day gathering and movie night. I, and two others here, are bourbon guys, so we worked our way through several i had open. Dickel 12, Dickel 9/103, HH 6 year 90 proofer, Booker's and KCSB.

Every one of us thought the DIckel 9/103 was the best and the KCSB was second best.

But, there wasn't a single bad one in the bunch.

Moving on to some Big Bottom port finish and now some Mellow Corn. The BB will be a first and last purchase. Not that it's bad but for the same money I'm liking Angels Envy a bit more. The BB tastes young and a bit flat. Perhaps a little heavy handed on the port finish and i really don't enjoy port much. The Mellow Corn, on the other hand, never disappoints. $10, somewhat unique, and 100 proof... I'll take that all day long.

My palate seemed to be off the last few times I've had a pour - not that it tasted bad, but stuff I'd ordinarilly love just seemed okay. But I got it back last night. OFBB '13 was delicious, then I went non-bourbon - Redbreast 12 CS (kind of fruity, real easy drinker) and the '13 THH to top off the night. I'm back, baby!

Spent last night with my wife, Iron Man 3, and healthy pours of OWA and a Kahn's SB OWA.

Watching Bears and Packers with a heaping pour of SB HHSS. Stunningly delicious. Layer upon layer of flavors and sensations in this whiskey. :yum:

My youngest son and I attended the Colts-Jags game. First game in-person this season. No bourbon only beer so I held off and drank Diet Coke and water. Now that I am home and watching the Packers-Bears game with Joe (although in different living rooms), I am enjoying a nice pour of OGD114/Ritt BIB to shake off the cold. I suppose if I was actually watching the game with him, I would be enjoying some HHSS too!

:D. It's probably good you're not here, as you would have the same big smile on your face as I do and uttering breathless comments like God that was great, and people might get the wrong idea...

Hope you're rooting for the correct team in this one, Joe!

Can't speak for Joe, but I am rooting for whoever wins. The more I drink, the better this game seems.

Classic game!

Of course, it would only be us and whoever is watching the game with you. I am comfortable with your comments as long as I get to drink your HHSS.
