Kenwood 8 year STOP and some WTR101 old label while watching MNF

What the heck is STOP? I thought I knew all the acronyms.

Stupid autocorrect on my new phone... SAOS

Hahaha.......that makes sense now. I thought there was a super secret new one or some dusty I'd never heard of.

I'm taking advantage of the incoming fall weather to finish up a bottle of KCSiB. For me, it's a decidedly colder weather bourbon with its dessert overtones. Just as delicious as I remembered it.

early this year i saw two bottles of KY Tavern BIB on a shelf and bought 'em just because it was BIB and discontinued and I'd never had it before. I opened one about a month ago, the other will just go into my small collection of future dusty oddballs. Cant say I really find it enjoyable, but it does have a faint hint of the butterscotch of yesteryears, though it is faint ( i have no idea how old the bottles are). Now and then, I just have a shot of it to get rid of it....my curiosity has been satisfied.

I'm enjoying a pour from one of the 200ml Daviess County KSBW bottle I have. Fleischmann Distilling Corp, Owensboro KY. 4 year old, "Matured in Oak Casks". Looks to be from around 1977, given the date code, though it has both metric and english measurements. Weird!

There's sediment in the bottom of the bottle, but the whiskey, while younger, is great, balanced, rounded, with a mild kick to it. Grassy/corn notes are what hit me most.

Had some birthday pours over the weekend. Lots of whiskey and some whisky.

WT Tribute, WTRR10/101, WTKL 118.2, Michter's 20yr, 2012 and 2013 FRSmB LE, PVW15, and 2011 GTS.

It was a great weekend and many of the above were shared with friends. Next year will be hard to top. :D

Picked up an OWA at the store a block from my hotel, and am sipping it now. Solid nose, but as beautiful a sweet burnt sugar palate as I can remember any prior OWA that I've had ever being. Luscious. Finish fades a bit quickly, but the first couple of parts were so good, that I can look beyond that.

Celebrating a new job offer with a big pour of some HHSS.

Congrats, Gary!

I'm finishing up the last pour of a fantastic bottle of FR OBSF.

Having some RR10 while trying to wade through benefit election renewals at work. This healthcare paperwork is absurd. Deductibles, coinsurance, exceptions and exclusions, HRAs, FSAs, limits, in-network, out of network, blah blah blah. I don't understand one bit of it. There HAS to be a better way. This is worse than the tax code (and I'm a CPA!)

More bourbon is needed. In the end, I'll just throw my hands up and check "Same as last year" anyway, like I do every year, even though I have no idea what I initially signed up for in year 1. More bourbon is needed.

Bought my first bottle of bookers today. It happened to be the 2013-6 batch. Trying it now and I really like it. Might be a good match for one of my favorites, ECBP.

SBS of WT101 and WTRB112. obviously similar, but the RB seems much 'thicker' and richer, and a great way to drop an extra $10 and not feel bad about it

Sorry I missed this earlier in my glee over a wonderful OWA experience. Congratulations Country! So, your plan of tanking in their poker game WORKED!!!

Salute to you with another pour of OWA!:toast:

This had much less heat than I anticipated. Not very complex but better than regular maker's

So, a private pick of OWA is better and 1/4 the price? Is that a fair assessment?

Tough to say. It needs to open up. I do like it quite a bit
