flahute
I didn't want to risk my 4R LE's on a questionable palate so I followed the VOB6BIB with SAOS10yr, which I already know I'm kind of "so-so" on, and found that I prefer VOB6BIB.Following that with KCSB because I'm looking for something strong to combat this sore throat and it's delivering as always. No Beam funk in this one.
Special Reserve
This morning I dusted off a WLW 134.8 and made its initial pour. On initial entry I'm wishing it could be 16.9 proof lower. It does have a very nice finish. I wonder what a few drops of water would do to this pour. Very small sips also help to minimize the effects of the higher alcohol concentration.Have a wonderful (legal) 4th everyone!(I'm reserving The Stars and Stripes (Arthur Fiedler Boston Pops) and The Star Spangled Banner (Hendrix) until tomorrow.)Have a great day everyone! TunnelTiger
After a very long yuck day at work yesterday got home late only to be reminded repairing a toilet not flushing was on the agenda, back to town to HD, back to the house, toilet repaired and myself rewarded with a couple three finger pours of MMCS. dSculptor
Thought I'd start the day off with a bit off OF Sig mixed in with my morning OJ...quite tasty I might add. Hope everyone out there has a good holiday and drive safe to wherever you're going.
bigtoys
wives went out to dinner the other night so a couple of friends came over (we were supposed to go out for dinner, too), but we sat for a couple of hours and sampled bourbon. that's a nearly empty bottle of 2008 4R LE SB (OBSK), which is one of my all time favorites. pretty sure I have at least 1 (maybe 2) more in the bunker. stickly
Kicked off my holiday by polishing off my bottle of Eagle Rare. It was after noon, so i figured the holiday drinking could commence! Planning on following up with the Batch 2 Stagg Jr I just picked up.
dboland
Had a FRSB OBSV last night to start the weekend. Wife had a Johnny Drum Old Fashioned that was actually quite good, though Drum is still overpriced in my area (~$26 for 750ml).

fozzy71
A pour of WSR after mixing up another PMP pint at 3:2 in favor of OWA. On to a pour from my #lastpours decanter, quite smooth given how many different oddball whiskeys it contains. No idea on the proof but I would estimate around 90. Was thinking about cracking the ER10 in honor of the 4th but the upstairs shelf of open bottles is a bit crowded so will probably just have some Larceny after this I think. The Black Tot
Trying to figure out Windows 8 on a new laptop. Hence, a healthy pour of MMCS with one ice cube to celebrate 4 hours of uninterrupted hell. EDIT - 4 hours so far.Spend $10 on the plugin Start8, and enjoy the stability and performance of Windows 8 with the traditional desktop start menu structure you're used to. 3yrs+ now and I haven't looked back.
