Too much talk of WTRB made me pick one up. Not drinking hasn't stopped me from buying.

Old Forester 1870 Original Batch... Big fan of Old Forester and got this just because I wanted it.

I was eyeballing a WTRB yesterday, really need to try that one of these days. Luckily it isn't hard to find and only around $40 here so I am sure I will try it sooner before later.

I have heard mixed reviews on this. My bottle shop guy called and said he had a few bottles. Didn't know he knew me from Adam. What the heck, give it a go.

You did a good thing by taking this off his hands (that's why you got the call) but hopefully you doubled down by reminding him to keep you in mind during the Fall release season! Press it!!!

Grabbed a bottle of Erza B this evening. Wasn't something I was looking for, but the store clerk I deal with a ton went to the back to "get me something special" so I hoped it earned me so good will for the fall releases coming up.

I like the bottle too but not for the price I heard it goes for. I saw one yesterday when getting the WTRB but didn't even bother checking the price on the bottle since it wasn't marked on the shelf I figured it was above state min and MSRP.

I bought one because I liked the handsome bottle. While it is not by any means "bad" I have concluded that the bottle is what I really got. Otherwise, there are far better pours out there for $80. And you might get 2, 3 or 4 bottles of a better pour for that $80. I mean, IWH15 is OK, but nothing special. This is my one venture in the Orphan Barrel arena and it will be my only one.

Found W.L.Weller 12, but the price has gone up to $34.99 +tax. - I now have my reserve bottle to accompany the bottle I found and opened a few weeks ago.

That's more than it should be but if you consider the supply and demand situation right now, it's actually a fair price.

Not me, but on one of the facebook bourbon groups someone in Louisville picked up a 6-bottle case of OFBB 2015 already.

Yesterday, there was an absolute frenzy of people buying and trying to flip (mostly successfully) bottles of the second release of Kentucky Owl.

I grabbed a RRSiB based on a post in another thread since I figured I had to buy at least one bottle on my birthday (even though I bought a few others in the past week or two in anticipation of it lol). I had the SmB a long time ago but have never tried the SiB.

that seems like a decent price for the times we are in now. glad you were able to find a backup!

as for me, picked up a FR OESO binny's pick. was looking to pick up a regular FRSB but it wasn't in stock.

Just realized I should have checked that store I grabbed the RRSiB from today to see what proof their WTRB was to see if I could get a bottle of the other proof. Oh well, there are quite a few stores I go to that have the WTRB so I will have to keep my eye out for the other.

Picked the up off the shelf in a NC ABC store. I was shocked to see it but not so much as to pass it up. $29.95

Went to 5 other stores after this one and struck out in each.

Had a good day buying bourbon. Got SA Contradiction, OF BIB, KC Rye, WSR, and a couple of NDP's. Also got a free bottle of OGD114 from a Beam rep who was in the store while I was in there.

OF meaning Old Fitz or Old Forester? Ya' can't go wrong either way. I just wondered. FWIW, I agree with you whole heartedly that it was a great whisky day for you. It's hard to beat something for free. :cool:

I am a new fan of the Old Forester Signature BIB. Free OGD 114 is great too! I haven't had it in a while, but I have one in the bunker from a couple years ago.
