Well, college football season is right around the corner, and my bourbon of choice at the neighborhood game days is Fighting Cock. Picked up 2 family size 6yrs on the cheap to get me through. Figured I pick up a PS Four Roses Single Barrel to complement the Cock ;), along with a Blanton's. Amazingly, the Blanton's was dumped on 8/5, and is already on the shelf down here, East of the Big Chicken...In some weird way, I feel compelled to video myself guzzling the bottle tonight so I can submit it to The Guinness Book of World Records in an attempt at the World Record of shortest time frame from Barrel Dump to Bottle Completion of a Kentucky Bourbon by one person---***(through normal retail channels)---...:D

***Heck, Mr. Noe, Russell, Lee, Rutledge, Beam, Henderson, et al., hold the non-retail record simultaneously, I'm sure.

It's getting just about to the point I might have to put you on my "ignore" list Joe. :banghead: Christ on a bicycle!

Cheers brother! Joe…..the other, other one.

After seeing the $20 rebate, I went back and got another 1.75 of the Larceny!

The girlfriend picked me up a bottle of Very Old Barton "because it was only $9!"

2 OESV's and a Larceny. OESV is perennially in the running for favorite recipe in my cabinet so I grabbed two without hesitation.

I have yet to be able to buy a FRSB other than the standard SB, which I believe is OBSV, but OESV is the recipe that I'd most like to try.

Picked up an old label WT101 liter I spotted sitting amongst it's newer brethren. It's got the red film wrap on the cap and a bottling code of L9335FF0730 - anybody have an idea of when this was bottled? Can't find any info on how to decipher Turkey codes. Bottle looks like this:

I found a couple of those bottles a while back and bought 2. I can't remember if I found a two digit year stamped on the bottom of my bottles or not (can check when I get home today). There is a thread (below) from 2011 discussing the change. I think Campari bought WT back in 2009, which might have had some part in the change.

Woodward by Valentine because it was the old style bottle. I don't keep many empties for any purpose besides vattings (and I have way too many) but since this is a good local 4yr big barrel bourbon I want one of each empty bottle. I also grabbed a RHF at $60 ($5 over state min) for my upcoming birthday treat/present.

A friend, who is a Woodford fan, gave me a bottle of the new Double Double Oaked. His son had stopped by the Gift Shop a picked up a few bottles and thought I might like one too. Since he has given me a bottle of a few other recent WR releases, I felt strange having him give it to me so I paid him for it. Besides, he has to reimburse his son. Probably not my first choice for a purchase but it was the thought that counted.

I was eyeballing a WTRB yesterday, really need to try that one of these days. Luckily it isn't hard to find and only around $40 here so I am sure I will try it sooner before later.

I enjoy it. I have only seen the newer batch in the last year or so, so I couldn't pass on this one at $38!

My first purchase in a while today, was an OBSQ, 11 years 3 months. Never had the recipe, so I will give it a try tonight.

I have heard mixed reviews on this. My bottle shop guy called and said he had a few bottles. Didn't know he knew me from Adam. What the heck, give it a go.

Too much talk of WTRB made me pick one up. Not drinking hasn't stopped me from buying. :P
