Yesterday in Italy another bottle of 10 Euro dusty 2005 WT101. When I returned home to Germany a parcel was waiting for me with a bottle of OGD 114. can't wait to try later on...

Was out for lunch and a drive to enjoy the AC in the car since we don't have any at the house and saw a big store I had never been to so I stopped to browse. The size was mostly for the wine/beer but they had a decent bourbon selection at proper state min pricing. I grabbed their last 750 of OWA and 2 pints of things I have been wanting to try for an early birthday present: blantons and MMCS.

Thanks to a fellow SBer, I was able to find a Stagg Jr. Batch for the reasonable price of $52.99.

On the road in CT found Some WL Weller Special Reserve. $20. Some fine stuff.

WSR is on sale in Maine right now. $11.99 / 750 ml. State pricing means that is the price at any Agency Liquor Store.

I didn't want to make a new thread for this. Lost a bet to my boss. Now I owe him a bottle of bourbon. He's a fan of pappy 20; however, I don't plan on driving out of state to buy (I live in PA). Thoughts on similar bourbon? I was thinking Booker or Blanton. Coming from scotch, I'm a new bourbon drinker; hope you all can help me out!

Bought a Four roses OESO Private selection for 69.99. Supposedly the store picked it with Jim Rutledge

Wow that's a hell of a price. Pretty damn good whiskey too. For $12 that's a very hard to beat bargain.

. . . . He's a fan of pappy 20 . . . .

Is he a fan of Bourbon generally? I've known men who said their preference was for a specific high profile liquor (Pappy 20, Macallan 18, Bombay Sapphire, etc.) when in my blind tastings found they actually preferred the flavor profile of brands that were a little less exalted in the public eye yet were hugely appreciated by enthusiasts.

No one drinks Pappy 20 daily because the supply is so limited no one could get enough to serve it daily. So see what other brands he might enjoy regularly and then try to locate a top end expression made by the same company.

Found a second bottle of Sweet Wheat on Saturday, along with a slaughterhouse, and several Rums.

Be glad you don't live in MI. 4RSB is $9 or more higher than that up here.

Do you mean single barrel or small batch? If small batch, that's an average price. If single barrel, that's a great price for most markets.

It's the SB and, in the context of until the past couple of months we've never seen it cross the 30 threshold, it is high. Yes, we're now paying for having been spoiled all these years (and I think it's only just begun)!

Have not seen any I.W. Harper in Nashville yet, but I'm in New York on business and grabbed a bottle of the NAS. They had the 15 for $80. I'm taking the month of August off, so I won't be tasting this until September.

I can usually find the SB on sale for around $25 and the single barrel for around $33-$34.

fyi general forum nomenclature is SmB for small barrel and SB or SiB for single barrel.

This weekend I hit a few stores in Tullahoma, TN. Snagged a bottle of Stagg jr #4, 5 bottles of OGD114, a bottle of RHF, and 2 bottles of RR SiB. Saw some RR small batch with funky new labeling.

Eagle Rare store select. A bit more than I usually pay for Eagle Rare but I have a weakness for store picks.

no kidding, I bought a bottle of OGD114 and a bottle of FRYL. The OGD114 is simply amazing, poor FRYL didn't stand a chance. Don't get me wrong, they are both like comparing apples and oranges, and fit different needs. If I want something lite, FRYL will do. It does make me look forward to trying their small batch or single barrel; probably both :toast: .

from what I've read, it's not bad but skip it especially if you have had their other offerings. For $20 I thought what the hell, why not and did not disappoint. I do look forward to trying their other bottles.
