Sarah is awesome. I love her work!

honestly though, I could never write my name that many times and be as neat as her handwriting is.

If that's the standard Single Barrel listed at 100 proof, it's the OBSV recipe.

Ah! Thank you!

Eagle Rare is on sale this month so I picked up two 750s at $22 each plus tax. Also bought an airplane bottle of WT101. I've never had it and need to understand if the buzz is legit.

That ER Sale is awesome. Hope you like the 101.  One of my favorites.

Go ahead and spring for the 750 and sit with it a spell. You won't regret it.

I was wandering through a liquor store in OP, KS and a bottle of Evan Williams Single 2006 just seemed to speak out and say "Buy Me!", so I did.

Bought a 1.75 of W.L. Weller Special Reserve for $31.99 in Columbia, MO last week -- saved me from coughing all week at the Mizzou pool!

Picked up a bottle of Orphan Barrel The Gifted Horse from a state store today at $49.99.  Plan on cracking it this weekend to determine if it was afoot buy or not.  I've tried all the others in the series and liked a couple and didn't like the others.   Thought I might as well try this one!

I noticed they pulled this from their website.  I'm curious why they did this.  I know they used this strategy with VW in the fall, but hoping this isn't going to be a continuing trend.

Recent discussions about MMCS, in particular some recent batches that are highly regarded, led me to visit my local to pick up one - batch 15-02. Also picked up a standard MM because, well..........I haven't had a bottle since the very beginning many years ago. I may use it for downproofing the MMCS in addition to enjoying on its own merits.

Lastly, another ECBP came home with me. They disappeared for a bit and then came back. Not taking any chances.

Received my on-line order of Four Roses K&L Exclusive OESK (9 years) Single Barrel Cask Strength Bourbon, two bottles, with two bottles of McKenna BiB10.  Looking forward to the tasting tonight.

So incredible was the OESK (did a 4RSB, 4RYellow, and OESK head to head tasting) that I placed the same order this past weekend!  HH and 4R offerings have eliminated my desire to explore any further than these two distilleries and with so many selections within, I feel no need to be concerned about limiting my discoveries in so doing.

Got a 1792 Port finish yesterday. Pretty underwhelming choices at the BCL lately but I've heard mostly great things about 1792 Port, so not a total loss.

Picked up a Booker's Noe Secret batch today for 36.99.  Supposed to be one of the better ones in years, according to reviews.

Finally caved and bought a bottle of the CEHT Straight Rye that's been sitting on the shelf at my local store for the past month or so.

I just bought my first bottle of Hirsch. It is labeled Small Batch Reserve, 92 proof and 7 years old. The flavor is just about perfect, and it gives a slight alcohol burn on the palate. All in all, the best new (to me) bourbon I've bought in a long time.

Pappy 20 at $149.99 from a VA ABC...these things are literally falling in my lap in the last couple of months.  I'm getting calls from stores that have had me on their lists for 2 - 3 years, it's unbelievable.

Took a little trip to WV this weekend.  My wife suggested that, for my birthday, we take a trip up there and check out the distillery at Smooth Ambler.  It didn't take me long to say yes, of course!  So this past Thursday, after work, we drove from Durham up to Lewisburg, WV.  On Friday, we spent about 3 or 4 hours at the distillery hanging out, touring the facility, tasting their various spirits, and then picking up a few bottles to bring home:

The open bottle was from the weekend's sipping in the hotel room.  Couldn't have all this good stuff and not drink any while I was there!  Picked up:

2 - Smooth Dramblers PS 9yo

2 - 10yo SB CS

3 - 9yo SB CS

2 - Yearling, one of which is for a friend

1 - Contradiction

1 - White Water Vodka for the wife, but I'll be honest, even though I'm not a big vodka guy, this was pretty good at the tasting.

1 - Barrel-Aged Gin, for a friend

Unfortunately, they didn't have a single bottle of their Rye for sale or else I would've brought home a couple of those as well.
