Since I couldn't find any Colonel EH Taylor I bought its closest cousin...

Now where in the heck did you get this one?  I would love to give that a try.

Well, thank God they let us keep some perks!  Come on down Harry, drinks on me!

by limiting its distribution to Kentucky/Indiana, they can keep its age and profile "forever" without raising prices or limiting distribution within that region.

I hear this often, about the limited distribution, which always makes me wonder how a couple of the small independent stores nearby are able to get it here.

Found an ECBP Batch 9 for $60. My first purchase in a few weeks.

Yesterday I see liter bottles of Very Old Bartons 6 year old for 16.99. Not a normal item here in NY so i grab one.

Tried it last night and today went back and grabbed two more bottles.

Decent bourbon for the money.

I've seen HH 80 proof around in a few places back here, but the BIB 6yr not at all.  I didn't ask about this apparent discrepancy.  A bar manager in Maryland who does have the BIB from time to time says he begs his distributor for it and gets a half dozen bottles every once in awhile.  Maybe HH meant "general, regional" distribution rather than special orders.  Whichever, I can at least drown my sorrows in other stuff.  Like today - bought a Bookers at regular price and an OGD BIB on sale ($21 plus sales tax).

Picked up a MMCS batch 15-03 (Paddy's Batch), and an EC12 because it was there. Lot's of EC12 on the shelf and in the pipeline out here.

Of note: the OWA's and WSR's I saw on the shelf a week and a half ago were still there. Everyone's bunkers must be full.

Shelf endurance. VERY good to see.

I snagged another Barrell Bourbon batch 5, and threw in a another Barrel Whiskey batch 1 just for the fun of it.

Managed to pick up a bottle of Blanton's gold from a very helpful SBer. They should just replace regular Blanton's with this version.

Newbie here, both to SB and to Bourbon. I just picked up some Elijah Craig 12 year.  I'm still learning the lingo and the different distilleries, but it's a pretty good pour for the money.  And the bottle price was certainly reasonable.

I won $50 on the ufc fight last, so, I bought a Stagg Jr (64.85%, what batch?) for $48.99.  My buying hiatus will continue from here out, but, if I stumble upon random cash like today...that is a different story.  Otherwise, drinking the bunker...as we all should do.

I believe that's batch #5. Batch #4 is 66.10%.

My wife and I took a little road trip this past weekend.  I had no intentions of making it a bourbon expedition, but I had the okay to stop at a couple of places. ;) I saw a lot of good bourbons, some of which I considered buying. I passed on most everything because I'm really trying to cut back on my purchases. However, I did buy a couple of good ones at very reasonable prices. I bought an ER for $24.99, and a liter of EW BIB for $15.99. I think I 'done purty good.' :D

 Cheers! Joe

Stopped by an old stand-by store, looking for Weller12 (no joy, BTW).  But I did see a 1.75l bottle o' EC12 with a big RED 12 on the front for $47.99 that I had to buy (even tho' I already have 2 newer 1.75s of confirmed 12s in the bunker).  That's surely a purty bottle and she's now home, safe and sound . . . . . .

My hometown stores in SE Kentucky have on their shelves (BOTTOM) and one manager told me it was the same mash bill as CEHT (???)...

I picked up 2 bottles a few months back, but they have aged 6 years on the label. I see they've taken it off and just have a 6 now.

Picked up more OWA from local ABC here.  I can't get enough. I wish I had a thumbs up emoji I could use. ;)

Old Taylor 6 year was owned by Beam until BT bought the brand and dropped "year" off the label.  I suppose it could be BT mash bill #1 now.  They use that for a lot of brands (includind CEHT).  It could also be something from Barton?
