Got my second bottle of Chattanooga Whiskey Company's 1816 Cask Strength - for a $39 cask strength offering, it's hard to beat!

Grabbed the last bottle of Rock Hill Farms off the shelf.  I gave the label/price/barcode sticker to the guy behind the register and told him to order more.  :)

We've got RHF down the road - but it's $69 a bottle - is that retail????

RHF is around $60 +/- $10 here in IL.  I lucked into two bottles on clearance for $37. I'm not sure I would pay $70 when you can get Blanton's cheaper usually.

It was $50 here.  More than I like to spend, but I am really enjoying my current open bottle, and this is the only other one I've seen in town.

One bottle of 1792SB.  Having my first taste tonight.

I got a couple of these today as well. Too many open bottles right now to crack it tonight. Would love to hear your thoughts on taste.

It was a bottle of baby Saz for me. After thanking the liquor dept manager for bringing it to my attention, I gave him encouragement to bring in some more. Perhaps buying the other bottle would have convinced him of my sincerity.

I found a couple bottles last week in Michigan for $50 (State Minimum) which I couldn't pass up.

Is there any Willett that is worthwhile?  I don't know their line well enough to tell between the overpriced MGP whiskey, the overpriced young nasty whiskey, and the old good whiskey.

Through some strange circumstances, picked up a 2012 and 2014 Four Roses LE single barrel. 2013 was great but no dice on that one. about 120 each.

I was going to pick up Rittenhouse because it was on sale but I saw Knob Creek single barrel on the shelf, so I grabbed that instead.

Most of the rye (if it is not their own) is from MGP and older bottles (6-7yo and up I would say) can be quite nice if the price is right. Younger bottles are good for cocktails or if you like the dill pickle thing (but you can find young MGP rye in a number of NDP bottles). But the price for them, unless you stumble on one still priced from a couple years ago, seems to get more and more out of whack for me by the day.

The bourbon has always been a complete wild card as far as I know. If you can't try it first you are taking your chances as far as I am concerned, especially more recent bottles as quality whiskey seems to get harder and harder to source. They are supposed to be releasing their own bourbon too soon but that one is currently a complete unknown as well (at least to me) for now.

I am working on my first-ever EW BIB, as it was on sale for 12.99- If tasted blind, I would guess it to be in a higher price bracket. Unbeatable for the money, but I haven't had the HH BIB yet, so...

Got lucky yesterday morning while looking at the Pa. state store on line site.  Up pops 36 bottles of Elijah Craig Barrel Proof batch 10, One bottle limit. Apparently that was the whole allotment for the entire state.  I scored one!  Shipped out and Delivered this morning.  Also picked up a Baby Saz, and a Smooth Ambler Old Scout 7yr old while there.  Good day all around.   Going to need it for tonight's debate fireworks.

If you are talking about D*A*V*E's upcoming SBS between EWW and HHBIB6yr, let me say this about that - I picked on every HH person I could find, except Bernie Lubbers (edit - because he was pouring PHC Malt, and I wanted him happy), about the LACK of HHBIB6yr in Washington DC and environs and was told that it was a conscious decision: by limiting its distribution to Kentucky/Indiana, they can keep its age and profile "forever" without raising prices or limiting distribution within that region.  So, I told them I'd just have to keep drinking WEB & EWW or run some road trips.  My trunk is empty so . . .
