I was thinking the same thing on BOTM!

FYI, and FWIW, the BOTM is really getting hard to do any more. I try the best that I can to come up with something that the majority of members here can relate to. I may miss a month here and there, but….. I'll do my best not to miss more than one month at a time. Any and all suggestions are appreciated, but don't be pissed off if I don't use your suggestion. ;)

Ha, no worried, I'm always looking for an excuse to try something new.

Having a great pour of HM 10y tonight. This is an excellent barrel.

And Joe, you do a great job with BOTM. Their are only so many bourbons.... Keep it up.

Again, I started with 1792 Full Proof (& stayed there), which I just find hits me right in the face.     It puts me right in the GN Back Yard while Barton drys their spent mash.    .... Not to mention that nice cereal-forward, popcorny, nice Bourbon profile, done really well at Barton, and presented really well at 125-proof.    Yummmmmmmy!

Violator! You must specify...just kidding.

Tonight: ETL, and IW Harper 15.  First time EVER, trying ETL.  Verdict: It's really good stuff, although I think as far as the BT #2 mashbill goes...RHF is still THE king.

OGD114 tonight, figured I haven't seen much about this lately so I should revisit it.  not a bad pour, but not one of my favorites.

Last night I spent some time with a new four grains vat of 2 parts Bookers, 2 parts MMCS, and 1 part water (approx. 95 proof).  When I first tried it a week or so ago I got the Beam funk, even though I don't get it from Bookers itself.  But last night it had tamed itself and was much more enjoyable.

Took a good friend fishing the other day and we both brought along some tasty pours, one in particular that he brought, and told me that I would never guess it, he did tell me it was a vat, and after a few sips - I told him it was Stagg jr/AAA10 - 30/70 -- the look he gave me was total disbelief, but after all it was my concoction to begin with. Mighty fine pour there. I guessed it more by deduction rather than taste, because I know his collection and I know him. We didn't catch fish but caught a nice buzz, mostly sitting in the river in a nice shady spot on a 85+ degree day.

Haha you should change it to the Vatting of The Month.  So we can all get creative in these trying times.

Smooth Ambler Single Barrel 8 yr - 105.8 proof.

Think this was an Astor Wines pick. Hot but tasty.

Cheers all!

Incredibly long and frustrating day at work is finally over. Kicking back with a healthy pour of 4RSB Barrel Strength of the OBSV variety, selected for Market Street Liquors in Tallahassee, FL. Feels every bit of the 114.6 proof and that is a good thing.

Going with the latest batch of ECBP with a huge cube. Hitting the spot right now.

I poured two Four Roses selections - an OBSO and an OESQ - to enjoy and do a bit of C&C on the recipes.

Last night, I relaxed with 4R OBSQ @ 61.8, a "Private Selection" from a local purveyor.  I may have to do that again.  Soon.

Edited by Harry in WashDC
To change "OBSV" to "OBSQ". What . . . ???

It's funny how situation and environment can effect your palate. I'm at an Italian place in the Detroit airport on a layover. Said place has a decent bourbon selection.

Ordered a Booker's first as it represented the best value. It wasn't bad by any means but it's one of my least memorable Booker's pours by a long shot.

Followed with Bakers (long layover) and this is one of the best Bakers I've ever had. It helps that I got a very friendly pour.

Two pours of eagle rare and now some WSR. All over a cube and tasting good. Good night for the bourbon budget.
