Just finished a healthy pour of RHF followed up by the last pour from a 2014 W12 to celebrate agree at sports weekend.    Tarheels won Saturday, Skins won this afternoon and the Nationals finished up the season with a win.   Also my team came in second in a charity golf Tourny today.    Thought it would be a good time to break out a couple of bottles I have nursed for a couple of years.   It seems the W12 has lost a little as the level got low.  RhF seems to be maintaining its profile though.

Will celebrate the US ryder cup victory with some 1792 Single Barrel tonight. Mickelson (and garcia) and Reed were incredible today. I'm always amazed at how many putts drop during the ryder cup as compared to a regular tourney. Only bummer is we have to wait two more years for the next one.

Today is our first wedding anniversary and I've been saving a pour of Pappy 15 that's from a bottle opened on the day of the wedding, which I'm now savouring.

So Cheers all!

Opened the JB Double Oaked and wasn't impressed with the first sip - much like at the Sampler during KBF but as I worked through the pour it grew on me - not bad but there are a lot of other bottles out there at lesser price point that "trip my trigger" more than this one

Moved on to a Old Fitz 10 yr 101 dusty I picked up a couple of years ago and have been rationing - now that is a great pour

Now I think I'll revisit the Rebel Yell 10yr that is good but I kind of thought I would abandon for HMckenna in the future - now I'm not so sure - I keep thinking about another pour so here we go...

Bowman bros SmB (which is becoming more blah as I work through the bottle), followed by FC103 (great value).

Enjoying some Buffalo Trace Bourbon, slow sipped neat.  This is perhaps the best bourbon at its price point.  I will make this a regular part of my rotation.

OWA-PS.  Just getting over a cold and my taste buds are finally back.  Small pour on this Wednesday night.  This bottle has been open for about a month and has really improved.  Oh I wish it was the weekend...

WT RR Midway Liquors pick from last year.   Truly a great bourbon.  The best value out there is a good store pick now IMHO.

Joe, can you remember what other private bottling's were available at Midway?  Thinking of driving down to pickup on of their FRSB PS, and I wondering if there anything else (special) they might have in the store I should look for.  Thanks!

I've been consistently going to KCSB. I've had it before at friends' houses but this is my first bottle and it's really good. Kicks below its 120 proof. Smooth and very sweet. I'm probably going to do a SBS with my 11 year, 7 month KCSB PS tonight for thirsty Thursday. Glad this one is not losing the age statement and it's available for $32 on sale around here (the stock KCSB not PS).

^^^Be sure to let us know how you compare the 9 yr vs the 11.7.  I've found the older PS bottles to be very good, but 'different'.  I'll stop there, as I don't want to influence your thoughts any more ( at least until you've tried it:lol:)!

We did the sbs and all of us preferred the 11.7 y.o. PS but described it with different adjectives. One said it had a "fuller" flavor, another said it was "smoother" and I got more of a "woody" taste and in a good way. Now, the stock KCSB we were comparing it to was outstanding to me over the past two weeks. The bottles were pretty close but the blind sbs don't lie. I have two bottles of the PS but at $45 I will make sure I have more before they sell out.
