Guys, thanks for all the kind thoughts regarding the passing of my dad.  Found out something interesting at his service on Friday.  His middle name was "Zillman" and we never knew the origin of it.  The minister who did the service did some research and told us that it was a German/Polish word that meant "The Keeper of the Still".  So when we got to my brothers house after the service we had a pour of Old Grand Dad 114 and toasted "The Keeper of the Still".  Last night when we got home and I was worn out from dealing with everything for the last few days my son walks into the kitchen with his bottle of KC Single Barrel Store Selection (Barrel #3094, our personal favorite) and asked if I wanted to share a pour with him.  Just what I needed at that point.

Unfortunately my dad passed away on Tuesday night.  Finally got home last night from getting all the arrangements made with my brother & sister.  We decided to toast my dad's life so I poured my wife a glass of wine and myself some Blanton's and toasted one of the best men to ever walk the face of the earth.

Going to spend the night at my brothers tomorrow after the services so I'm planning on taking a couple of bottles so we can drink to his memory.

I sorry to hear of your loss.  I wish you many fond memories during this time.

I opened a bottle of ER a few days ago and, frankly, I was not really impressed.  It seemed a little woody to me.  However, today, after a little air time, it is excellent.  I am really loving the nose, the initial flavor and finish, which is fairly long.  Spicy, yet a slight sweetness on the palate.  It reminds me of the FR SB profile from 3 or 4 years ago, just slightly lower proof.  This is interesting give the significant difference in the percentage of rye in two mashbills.

^^^Yes, please also accept my condolences to you C & B on the loss of your father.

I will salute his memory with a small pour of 1792, which seems fitting... as it salutes the birth year of our fair commonwealth.

All the Blantons talk got me to pour a glass, enjoying it quite a bit this is a 2013 bottle and it's the last one that made it's way into my liquor cabinet, probably should pick up a back up before this one is gone to see how things compare these days. After finishing it I decided to run through the mash bill 2 bourbons tonight I would probably order them in preference: Blantons, Rock Hill Farms slightly edging out Hancocks and Elmer last.

Having some Grandpa Weller's Four Grain from the hot tub watching game 1 of the Stanley Cup Finals. Not sure who to root for.

That's not so easy. Every team I rooted for is out..Blues, Ducks, Senators. Lol. Glad I'm not a betting man.

I routed for my Rangers until Ottawa took us out then I was pulling for them, I hear ya on the jinx but really routing for Pittsburgh real or in an effort to thwart them is not an option I can't even fake that.

1792 FP.  It's a bit hot on front, but rewards with a rich, lengthy dose of ripe fruit on the lengthy finish.

I missed the selection panel for the store I buy 90% of my bourbon because I was traveling. They were nice enough to save some of each sample for me to test. Completed Eagle Rare today and will score B-Trace tomorrow.

Loved 2 of the 3 ER's.  Hoping the group picked one of the two that I like.  Last year's ER pick was amazing amd glad I bought a ton of it so I can enjoy for years.

Finally poured from my BT vatting last night... WOW! I wish I had measured and recorded the contents... :( hoping I can duplicate it. It is the last pour "or so" from OWA, W12, Blanton's, Stagg jr., CEHT SmB, ETL, BT
