What Bourbon Are You Drinking? (Spring 2019)

Put some baby back ribs on the smoker.  Sides were pasta salad and roasted carrots.  Thought about having a beer and then maybe wine, but . . . they really called for some 2018 GTS.

Oh they were very tasty.  Between the smoked paprika, chipotle pepper and brown sugar rub they had a sweet bark with a little bite.  Be careful and don't drool on your keyboard.

I am enjoying some 2018 vintage WT101. While long a staple for me this is just especially good (and 101 sets a high bar for moi ) Should I happen across more of this batch I will get more as it checks all the boxes that qualify as enjoyment for me. Whatver combination of rickhouses, age, phase of the moon... bottom line, I like it, I like it alot and I shall make sure I have stock to continue to enjoy well into the future. Seriously well done mssrs Russell. 

As a qualifier I did a sbs with other vintages, to my palate this 2018 is just that much more especial. Slainte!!

A lil Turkey today to celebrate with Mako.  Yes, that is the bottle of Rare Breed I bought/opened this weekend.  Moving through it at a good clip.

Not sure how long since this was released (or if it's still available at all) but there was one bottle on the shelf today so I grabbed it. Really great on the first pour for $20!

Cracked this in honor of my hometown Hoos making their first final appearance tonight.
First of any of the Pappy family. Was planning on saving for my 40th in a couple months but figured this was a worthy occasion. Much more refined and well rounded than OWA. Glad I did crack it as my birthday pour should be a little better now.

It was released a couple years ago it's still around in some places, I like it a lot and bunkered a few. Last year's release was an 86 proof called Repeal batch, looking forward to this line of affordable bottles continuing.

There were many bottles of the repeal batch there. I passed given the lower proof but price was $17. I hope the distillers cut becomes a regular release (or I hope I find more collecting dust as its close to WT101 for me in terms of value).

I really enjoyed the Distiller's Cut I had. Shame it didn't make it to our shores!
