I was just out visiting a few stores to keep up relations.  I grabbed the Starlight and Bookers at one place, both were $59.99.  The MM set was on clearance at another for $19.99.

Bookers for $59.99?! That’s back when I would actually buy it for a special occasion. Good for you.

Fresh from Japan.  Crazy but these are about $34.00 US there and are everywhere.   Glad to have a friend bring it back. Better then HH prices at the distillery!

Meanwhile they are asking $200+ for this at KL.  Would love to snag one of these!

The store I usually rely on for OGD BIB on short notice was OUT!  BUT, the store had (and has) plenty of 114 which, in the winter-time, I dilute to 105 proof and sip.  I felt so badly about the lack of BIB that I bought a few other things.  A representative sample appears below.  The ER was a surprise - person in front of me asked if the store had anything special under the counter.  GUESS WHAT?!  The Blanton's is a barrel pick by my favorite three pickers at another store.

All things considered, it was a good 36 hours of shopping.  All at or below MSRP, and I did buy multiples.:o

The R10s were to replace one that was “damaged” last night with a couple neighbors shooting pool in the basement.

The Augusta was from a friend.  They are a new place opening across the river from Cincy in KY.  He had done some work for them.  I would say it is 13 y.o. Barton.  They are many years away from their own.  Not a bad NDP.  I don’t know the price on it though.
Holy $#*&, I just looked it up at their website, $199.  Tasty, but nowhere near that.

Bourbon purchases have been slim the past couple of months, with the holidays and other craziness going on.  Other than an occasional bottle purchased for gifting purposes nothing really stood out that I needed.  Tonight was a little different tho, as while out running some after work errands I stopped by a store and had the opportunity to pick up 2 bottles of Stagg Jr.  Just could not say no to that since those have become pretty difficult to find.  Grabbed a spare bottle of ER while there and called it a successful stop.

These. Was informed by the owner of the liquor store I frequent that Woodford Double Oaked is now going to be allocated. 😒

Greetings.  I responded to the "other" email a little while ago.  But -- Bassins on MacArthur Blvd, WDC is my go-to place for OGD BIB.  They are pretty good about keeping their inventory up to date on their website.

Glad you finally found a couple of bottles you were looking for. Hopefully the prices were decent.

Snow stopped so I took a ride in the truck to try to blow the snow off. Truck happened to take me to a local that recently relocated.  Lots of stuff on sale, my lucky day.

Thanks. A little more than what I wanted to spend for the 2, but I got them and can stop searching for a while.

The pricing on MM 101 in other parts of the country continues to confound and frustrate me, and my situation here.  While the Cask Strength in ATL is generally well priced and competitive with pricing seen elsewhere, 101 is ~$15 higher than 101 elsewhere.  I recently found a 101 at $45, and quadruple checked the shelf price card to make sure I was seeing it right.
