Some HMcK 10 this evening.  It has been awhile and is hitting all the right notes tonight.

Some KC120 store pick on the penultimate night before knee surgery.

I am ready.  I was that guy this weekend.  Cut grass, raked and mulched leaves, and put up outdoor Christmas lights.  It will be a few weeks before I can get around beyond simple walking and rehab.

Good luck..  with your surgery.  Been there done it, not fun but the reward is worth it.

Thank you.  Four significant injuries with this knee over the years and apparently a fifth (torn ACL) that I didn't know about.  This will be the second meniscus surgery on the same knee.  But, hey as an old man, I am just happy to say I still have a meniscus. 😀  Well, I hopefully I will be able to say that after the surgery.

I had them both done (total replacement) at the same time about 8 years ago.  Rehab is your friend but I must say it was not bad.  I was walking with crutches in about 2 weeks and a can in four.
Best of luck to you.

Best wishes and prayers that it all goes smoothly.

Indianapolis area does have some really good doctors.

Right there with you! Sipping on this reminds me how much I've always liked this bourbon and how disappointed I was when Minnick blew it all up and made it allocated.

Get well soon.  I hear imobile people cannot reach the well-priced bottles.  As such, I trust that your frugal instincts will have you hopping about in no time!  🤣

So martial arts thing included some visiting Chileans.  Since the Wifey is from there we tend to easily bond with them.

They like whiskey.

They wanted something oaky, so Calumet 15.

Climbed the proof ladder with Blantons SiB, Gold, and SFTB (132.9 proof).  They really enjoyed that.  I was surprised that the burn was tolerable and the flavor high at that proof level.  Still making up my mind on Gold v SFTB.

Then tried ECBP A121, JMCB, and OF 1910, and Dry Fly Wheat Whiskey 9y, just for some variety.

One of the guys has an aunt who got him into whiskey & bourbon, he left with a care package of Blanton's SiB and HM10 (he tried it a few nights ago and loved it).  He'll have a wine care package ready when we next visit Chile.

Martial arts bros, bourbon bros.  Good mix!

I have a bottle of Blantons Gold that I was saving for the day I retire, but I am now concerned that what if I drop dead, hit by a bus, wind up in the hospital and can't get to it!!  Don't like the idea people drinking it at my wake!!  How is the gold?

It is much more flavorful than the regular.  I think the trade off (more ABV but also more flavor) is a very good one.  This my 2nd time trying it. I picked up a few in France.

4R Small Batch tonight before Hamburger Helper Beef Stroganoff!  🤪. The longer things go on, the better it gets for this whiskey.  It is just such a solid release, and the pricing isn’t offensive as it was early on.  QPR continues to trend into the Very Good Zone! for me!

Thanks for the well wishes on my surgery tomorrow.  I am drinking a little bourbon tonight (KC120).  Hopefully, my doctor is not. 😀

Watching election results while sipping from the newest solera bottle,  adding in some cask strength MGP 95 rye to sweeten things a bit.
