2022 Round 1:

Pappy Dec 2022.jpg

Last chance for Pappy and BTAC coming up after New Year's due to late delivery of allocations.   🤞

Jeez, that is awesome! Last Pappy I had is 8 years ago!

Doing some last minute shopping for my wife today and temptation lured me to make a side stop. Picked up a C922 and a RR pick from warehouse A.

Passed on a Russell’s 13 at $250.

I picked up an OF 1920 last night.  It had to be done. The old one is just about gone.  Disaster has been averted. You may now return to your homes.

I am sure you wife will be happy with the C922 and RR pick.  Hopefully, she will share.  😀

I put myself on a waiting list for BTAC and other allocated stuff six years ago.  Finally came through.  I put it under the tree and told the kiddo it was from Santa.

Are you seeing the neck hang tags with the $6 rebate on WT101?  I saw them a few weeks ago at a local grocery store, then last weekend at TW.  Makes a 1.75 liter cost about $36 at their current price. I think I might head back and get one and a 101 Rye to boot (or maybe just to drink).

Have not seen but haven’t been out lately.  Thx for the head’s up.  Relatives leaving tomorrow so I be browsing in-stores the next couple days.

Uh, please pm me re: the OESF if it’s likely still available.  I’ll leave Wash DC and drive as far as Fairfax for some. Hahahaha.

Found a fresh shipment of Knob Creek single barrel select at our liquor superstore in Omaha.  Only purchased two bottles but wanted to get more.  Very smooth and complex, 120 proof but not proof forward at all.  Drinks more like a 100 proof bourbon.  Date stamp shows the barrel at about 10 years old.  It ranks up there with the Knob Creek 12 year.  At just under $60 a bottle it is a lot of bourbon for the money!  Happy Christmas everyone.  Dean

Wow, $250!  I'm a big fan of Russells but to me it is hard to be there Single Barrels.  I savor mine and wish I could enjoy it more but the single barrels are getting hard to find.

I would have bought it if under $200 so I’m glad it wasn’t. 😉

I didn't buy this but my son brought it home for me last night from a trip to France.  Apparently it is made from 100% malted French-grown corn.  Should be interesting!

I bought way too much whiskey and whisky this year to where I didn't even post most of it, and am honestly a hair embarrassed...ha ha.  So I'm just going to post my last purchase for the year (I think), which was a Calumet 16.  I hope that joker is good as that's about the most I've ever spent on a bottle.

I finally broke down and overpaid,($75.00), for one of these.

Larceny is so hit-or-miss but, based on @Anwaltpositive feedback on batch C922, I pulled the trigger.

That, and I wanted a bottle for the  custom label 😉.

My label-affixing leaves a lot to be desired. It's as crooked as the owner of the Washington Whatevers 😅

Great choices.

WT101 rye and MC are staples at our house.

Agreed.

The most expensive thing I buy with any regularity is WTRB, and that's about to become a 1x/yr purchase, I think.

WT101, bourbon and rye

KC 9 bourbon

Old Forester 100

Mellow Corn

EW BIB and 1783

OGD BIB and 114

Those are the things I drink and like and can reasonably afford. Of late I've bought a few 4R SiB since a local place has them for $40 right now. Normally it's a $50+ bottle in these parts.

With the exception of the EW 1783, those are all staples.

I'll spend the $$$ on other bottles, and often do, but those ubiquitous,  and reasonably priced,  whiskeys  always hit the spot.

As crooked as the dagummed lawyer/liar (Southern pronunciation) who recommended it.  Lemmie know how it goes.  I really liked it.

I need me one of them labels!
