Went to see my 95 yr old Mom this past weekend; saw my oldest Brother who sent me packing with a mess of farm raised quail & a fairly large jar of pickled quail eggs. Picked up a pound of chicken cracklings & a pound of pork cracklings.

Now I'm frying up a batch of bass filets gifted from a younger brother while enjoying a second pour of George Remus.

I do miss the country life!!!

Tried that bottle in an interesting context already.  I was presenting a class in the States.  A buddy from KY had muled some bottles, including a private barrel ECBP from Johhny O's.  134 proof.

 

At the beginning of the last hour of the presentation he poured at least three (proctologist-sized) fingers, neat, into a large tumbler.  I was told that the presentation then become increasingly "interesting"!

I cracked open one of those KO Bare Knuckle CS bottles I got recently a couple of weeks ago, and have been sipping on it a good bit.  Having a little tonight.  These are single barrels (6 year, MGP sourced) so they may vary.   The particular barrel I have is one of the best bourbons I've had in quite a while hands down (including allocated stuff).  This has to be one of the best kept secrets around.  I guess it probably has to do with limited distribution and the price ($73).  

 

Anyway, I grabbed one more while I was out and about last week.

I am finishing a bottle of ET BIB (Saz version).  This was not available in CA til Saz bought them so this is my first bottle, bought maybe 6-9 months ago.  I don't know if it is just my palate tonight, or if it is because it has been sitting for a few months, but it is SOOO much better than I remember.

Opened up a 375 JD single barrel. This is my 1st taste. A bit hot, but at 131 proof, sure. (Quite tasty, though...)

Next up, MM BRT 01; good stuff...

And while I'm cooking supper, A Dickel 15...
