The other evening, a friend and I did a tasting of Old Taylor 86 proof from 4 different bottlings in the 80's...83, 84, 86, and 88.

The 1986 was the clear winner.

After the "tasting" was over, we moved onto a 4 year Willett and some VWFRR.

Last night I killed a LotB and a OESK P/S 4Roses.

Capped off the night with an always delightful 114.

The bad news was that I had my last pour from a nice bottle of Lot B. The good news was that the PVW15 was waiting in the wings!

WT 101from 1985 before dinner and old101 from 1977 and OGD114 after. The 1977 bottle is near the end and it taste better and better for each time I taste it. It is a Bardstown bottling. Is there anyone that knows if it is a HH bottle or whatever it is?

Going with a couple of the lower priced bottles in my cabinet the last two days. FC last night and some VOB tonight. It's all good

Decided to change things up last night and had a bottle of Tecate (Mexican beer, for those unfamiliar with it) and a healthy pour of Cazadores Anejo tequila. That's some fine sipping agave juice!

W L Weller Centennial,

hand selected by Jon D'Ettore for Lisa's Liquor Barn,

Barrel #2,

neat.

I see that these Centennial's are getting up to $150.00 on eBay, makes my $38.00 bottle taste better.

Just a short pour of WTAS last night. I'm appreciating this a little more every time I visit it.

I'm enjoying a sunny spring afternoon in SE Michigan and sipping some L'ville OCPR on the back porch.

Two people from Michigan drinking exquisite bourbon at the same time. What a way to spend a beautiful day!

Weller centennial from Louisville. Has very little in common with the frankfort Weller cent, from the honey-vanilla nose and onward. This is whiskey to be treasured.

I love those nights when I pull out a bottle that I always enjoy and for some odd reason the juice tastes better than ever. It happened to me last night with WT101. Wild Turkey is a fixture on my bar and something I turn to with some regularity but last night you'd have thought I was drinking liquid gold. It was perfect: just the right balance of sweetness and rye spiciness with a mouth-coating texture that couldn't have been better. Awesome!

I'm obsessing on KBD's Pure Kentucky and Hirsch Kentucky Straight Corn.

A few ounces of PVW15 and a few more of VWFRR. I had to indulge a bit since prospects are up for a few more of each on the way.

Been having some ETL the last few days while on vacation. Had some MM last night at one bar while listening to a small group doing 50's-70's stuff. Tonight, after dinner, we went to another place to listen to one of the guys do his solo act. I spotted one lone, almost empty WTKS Pewter Top (5-1-01)on the back bar. It's empty now. :yum: Cheers! Had some PVW15 before leaving the house for our bowling banquet and after numerous beers, came home for some VOB.

WL Weller Special Reserve last night. This afternoon, picking up some Ezra Brooks 7 yr old to try (at least that's the plan, unless something a little higher up the shelf calls to me).

Four Roses Binny's Barrel Strength OESO, neat.

The 4R Rutledge 40th still haunts me.

Ended up buying Four Roses yellow label, and OF Repeal. The FR will be the drink of the day.
