SBOmarc
Saz Jr. Very good as usual. Had one over a cube, the next will be a 4:1 Manhattan using NP Sweet and 3 dashes of Peychaud's bitters.
dmarkle
Some 2009 GTS in my brand new Glencairn glass. This stuff will rip the chrome off a bumper in seconds flat, but it's still a great pour. whers my feet i cant feel my face
nor02lei
I had 2 1/10 bottles before dinner yesterday: old Crow 1969 and old Taylor 1970. Both were 86 proof but I liked Taylor a lot more. Very sweet and chewy for an 86 proof bourbon. I would really want to lay my hands on a Taylor BIB from the same time epoch, but I never see any around here. I wouldn’t mind a trade…I had uncut 13 years HH and WT 8 export after dinner. The later really found the spot together with some high quality dark chocolate.Leif
M14Shooter
Last night I had a pour of Eagle Rare 10 Year.It had a nose with some wood spices and a little almond and toffee. It took a while for the nose to develop. On the plate it had great balance with light carameland honey flavors. The finish was medium in length. Not much heat on finish. This was not a big in your face Bourbon. But a very enjoyable medium body sipping Bourbon.Mike
nor02lei
I had Bulliet 90 proof before dinner yesterday and Beam 7/90 and OGD 114 after. The low proof stuff didn’t work at all last night, but the old trusty 114 tasted good as always.Leif
jburlowski
Went out to dinner... had a Blantons with some great Cajun food.
Halifax
My work travels have minimized my consumption of bourbon here of late. I was finally able to get some front porch time yesterday evening where I nearly polished off the remains of a bottle of ORVW 10/107.
Josh
This afternoon I'm enjoying some 99 WTRB with one (now melted) ice cube. Nice, spicey, woody and goody.
nor02lei
WT 101 from 1981 before dinner and with some real good dark chocolate after and OGD 114 as a nightcap right now. The long confined Turkey grow one or two classes just from before to after dinner, due to the breathing.Leif
ggilbertva
A bottle that I haven't tipped from in a while, a 2008 WLW; delicious.
DeanSheen
OWA that is very tasty. I have one more bottle of this lot, both were purchased in KY and I just keep telling myself it's a coincidence. It does have that really soft finish that goes to powdered sugar at the end. I've never had this in a OWA, only in Centennial. No wood evident or astringency. The nose is muted candycorn. Just fantastic.
T Comp
No bourbon for a few days so treated myself with 06 WLW, Pappy 15 and just a nip of Louisville Centennial to end. I brought both the WLW and Pappy to 100 proof and let them sit covered for a half hour per a Ralfy suggestion, on his blog today. Maybe it was the placebo effect but at least for nosing purposes this did seem to benefit them especially the WLW. Picked up strong chocolate, tobacco and celery salt in the WLW which I hadn't uncovered before. I preferred the Pappy's at this equal proof but think they both still satisfy best for taste at their original proofs.
M14Shooter
Just opened a new bottle of Rip Van Winkle 10 Year 90 Proof. It had some nice caramel flavors and great balance and weight with a lot of toffee on the finish.I just bought this bottle a few weeks back. This bottle did taste a little bit like OWA 107 that was diluted down to 90 Proof. The next time I have a pour I will do a side by side with OWA 107 and the Van Winkle.Mike

Josh
I'm polishing off my old bottle of Binny's Weller 12 tonight, to make room for the new one. This one has a lot of apple and even some floral notes. The new one is very different. It's much closer to Pappy 15. Dry and woody, but pleasantly so. I got peanuts in the nose too. (That's what you call a straight line, folks...)

DeanSheen
Robert, is that bottle a new nas bottle or an old label 7 year bottle? Thanks. It's NAS. Drinking it now, still have the same impressions.

dmarkle
a half-glass of the (apparently!) much-reviled Pappy 20, to celebrate a long and successful day at work which just ended at 4AM.
Halifax
Last night while celebrating a friends birthday bottles of WT12 and WTKS from 94 were broken out. Yeah... we partied like it was 1999.
nor02lei
I did go to an old friend for a guy dinner yesterday. As it was a lime pie for dessert and partly potluck I brought a Dickel 12 That I figured would go very well with the pie plus OGD 114. Both whiskeys were a success and the Dickel-pie combination was marvelous. We did finish of all of the about 50 cl that was left in the bottle on 3 persons.Leif
