Finished off an EC12 in my seemingly never-ending quest to reduce the number of open bottles so that I can open a new round. This plan takes too much self-discipline.

I did finish up a 2010 handy yesterday. I liked this vintage very much and I am lucky to have one more in the bunker.

The last week or two has seen 1792 Barrel "C", Lot B, Pappy 15, ORVW 10/107, and a E.H. Taylor BIB pour their last. Good, gone, not forgotten. :frown: Joe

Add a handle of Everett's Weller SR. The garbage man is gonna wonder if I had a party. Pic below of my recycle bin, minus the EH Taylor. Joe

Are you still working on cutting down on your open bottles? How many are you down to now?

This evening an open bottle of Buffalo Trace gave it's last pour. On to the Old Fitz BIB.

This one hurts, a gold veined Louisville OWA. I believe this was a mid 90's bottling but for some reason had a faux tax seal cap. It came in a red bag with a "No. L. 707" on the top left of the bottle label. Pefectly rich, intense, close to candied but not cloying "wheater" bourbon. An example, in spite of the Norton Simon or UD changes made at DSP 16, that some great bourbon continued to come out of there.

Dickel 12..... time to reload this one...

Same here. I somewhat impulsively picked up this lingering bottle of mine tonight and poured the remains, before heading out for dinner with friends. The Tennessee process char is present but much more subtle and integrated than the other more popular one. It's a good afternoon sipper or aperitif "whisky".

Just had the last of my bottle of EC12. MUST get another, soon.

In response to the post above... I always have Dickel 12 on hand... I never run out.

My first ever bottle of Pappy 15 finally poured the last of it's sweet nectar. Thankfully I have several backups.

OF Signature hit the trash can tonight. It will be replaced, but probably not any time soon. I do like this pour, but need to drink down some stuff in the bunker first.

A liter bottle of Old Fitz BIB gave up it's last few pours last night. On to the Buffalo Trace.

Goodbye to a Rittenhouse Rye 21. I was never able to enjoy this outright, but really did enjoy it for mixing with younger Rye Whiskeys.

Consolidated some bottles into a 1L Woodford Reserve that was more than 80% gone. Into it went some BH, Ritt BiB, ETL, BT, and KC SmB. The 1L is probably 85% full, and I figure between 7-8 yrs old and 91 proof.

Glad to have some shelf space back!

Buffalo Trace, Barrel #197-Loc K-6-34 selected by Kenwood Liquors..... "meh" on this one and for me all other BT products (except OWA) under the $50 range. Is it too much to expect from BT anything close to the superiority of the old ER 101 at a $30 price point.

I am in DEEP mourning right now.

I just killed the first bottle of my 1982 Evan Williams Birthday bourbon, this has been a FANTASTIC drink.

I scored 2 of the Parlor Decanters (in the boxes) on the way home from out processing at Ft Benning, and we stopped at Heaven Hill on the way. I told the tour guide about it and he asked to see one so I went out to the car and brought one in, he took it to the office and showed it to Mr Shapira, who came out to talk to me. He said he had seen a decanter once before but didn't have one. Now one is gone forever

I finished up an open Old Charter 10 y/o while enjoying a Romeo Y Julietta cigar on the front porch this evening. Now I am having some Buffalo Trace.

Finished an Old Rip Van Winkle 10 year / 107 proof last night. That bottle never failed to deliver anything but pure happiness.
