I am in DEEP mourning right now.

I just killed the first bottle of my 1982 Evan Williams Birthday bourbon, this has been a FANTASTIC drink.

I scored 2 of the Parlor Decanters (in the boxes) on the way home from out processing at Ft Benning, and we stopped at Heaven Hill on the way. I told the tour guide about it and he asked to see one so I went out to the car and brought one in, he took it to the office and showed it to Mr Shapira, who came out to talk to me. He said he had seen a decanter once before but didn't have one. Now one is gone forever

You left empty handed?

There are few things that I enjoy more than Old Charter 10, but one of those things is an Old Charter 20!

A BTEC "Lost Barrel" from 1991 has hit the recycling bin.

This one is definitely on my favorites list.

A liter bottle of AAA 10 y/o will give up it's last pour tonight. When it does it's time to fetch another from the bunker.

Finished my first bottle of OGD 114 tonight. It will surely be missed!

On a side note, I also finished a 375ml E&J Brandy that I've been working on for over a year. It tastes better now that it did a year ago.

Finished the last two pours from an Eagle Rare 10 y/o. Will have to get another from the bunker to take it's place in the cabinet.

Well, it's been a depressing week (due to bourbon loss), and it's only getting worse...

Old Forrester Signature is gone.

Old Grand Dad 114 is gone.

Willett is gone.

Elijah Craig 12yr is gone.

Elmer T Lee is almost gone.

Russels Reserve is almost gone.

Man, I need to get some more bottles.

I sure did some mid-summer cleaning last night... WSR, OWA and VOB BiB all hit the can. I was shooting to drain a fourth and unfortunately for my head today, I succeeded. The fourth bottle to give up its last, and my last large drink of the night was a Handy '10. I don't advise a hefty portion of anything over 125 proof to end an evening of indulgence.

Well a bottle of Buffalo Trace gave up it's last pour tonight as I was trying to beat the heatwave we are having in my part of New Mexico. It has been over 100 degrees for so long I've stopped counting.

Well time to see if I have another in the bunker.

Finally opening up a little space in the cabinet. This week finished a Ritt BIB, Pappy 15 and the seemingly bottomless bottle of Ezra B.

Killed off a bottle of Binny's FR Barell Strength OBSK, Ritt BIB, Louisville WSR 1998, and a Old Fitz BIB DSP 16/24...all in all a good weeks kill! :)

Took a Binny's Weller 12 to my sister-in-law's wedding and we polished off about 2/3 of it. I gifted the remaining 1/3 to a friend of the family that is a budding bourbon nut. We'll just call it empty.

Finished a 2007 ER 17. Not bad, but not great. For the price, just give me the 10 year old.

A 1993 BT lost barrel, warehouse L, floor 2, rick 6, row 1, slot 1....The master distiller commentary caught my attention "...nice rich and creamy texture, like a whiskey latte with extra foam and a shot of vanilla..."

This was almost like a desert drink, rich with the vanilla mixing with the caramel leading to a long finish, almost like a yeast roll. It's a good thing all bourbon doesn't taste like this one or I could be raging drunk.

I was in a bar recently and spied a bottle of Weller Cent which was nearly empty. I had yet to try the Cent and was shocked and excited to stumble upon it the time I am not searching for it. The bartender gave me the last pour on the house as I babbled about how much I've been wanting to try it, and loved bourbon. He appreciated the passion, and he said it was not enough to charge anyone for. I gave it a thorough sniffing before I gave in for the sip. It did well and held up to the high expectations I had set for it, but little did I know that I was destined to enjoy this pour no more.

I sauntered back to my table with my new trophy and began to tell my friend I was with the back story of this wonderful bourbon. Before I knew it she said, probably only half listening, "its probably just Old Crow in the bottle knowing this place" and preceded to slug the shot as I spoke the words 'you can't hardy find this anymore'.

With my jaw agape I believe a tear began to well(er). "Wow, that was really good..." she said.

Last night polished off an open Old Fitz BIB. I'm working on an open Eagle Rare 10 y/o tonight. Need to finish off some open bottles.

Finished off an Old Fitz BiB, EW 2000, and an EC 18. One pour left in each and the Old Fitz improved the most out of all three with the air ... I think I'm a convert, I've been reaching for the Old Fitz more than the Weller SR or OWA ...
