P&MLiquorsEric
Is the gift shop version still the filtered kind or did they allocate some there finally? No idea. Last I heard they were single barrel versions. Tasted one and it was as good as the version in distribution.
MyOldKyDram
Pretty sure the gs is still chill filtered.
wmpevans
Haven't seen the 137 in ATL. There was a second drop of the 134.2 about a month ago.
mbroo5880i
I would guess bourbon festival time before KY gets another allotment. The last was tiny. single bottles to most places and even the big box places didnt see more than a case. Yet pics from other states showing 10-15 bottles at a single store. A bit frustrating for everyone involved in the process. Im guessing gift shop sales are brisk. One of my suppliers only got 6 bottles for 20 stores! mbroo5880i
Ditto - I've been looking for ECBP (I'll gladly pick up any batch 1 I find ), but am really curious about how B2 stacks up (ideally before I run across one in the wild!!) Haha... I will take whatever I can get. One, two...I ain't picky. Just needs to be at a reasonable price.

theglobalguy
I wonder why they have to spread it so thin in the first place.I really am confused by this as well. They seem to have plenty of EC12 to go around, maybe it's the fear that if its not "prestigious" and tough to get it won't sell through.

bllygthrd
Because people often don't consider something until told they can't have it.So true ... I've got 2 bottles in my stash ... and an open bottle on my bar ... guess I'm lucky, but I doubt I'll buy it again. There are many other pours at that price-point [and less] I like better and will spend my $$$ accordingly. Disclaimer ... not trashing EC BP ... just not my most favorite BP bourbon. I have several FRSB that I like in that range but have seen precious little else. PM if you would like to avoid my thread hijack.

I can't think of a single other barrel proof bourbon out there for that price. Four roses private selection wholesale are about $40. I agree that many of those are fantastic. Bookers at $50 and barrel strength is a good pour. We will soon have a willett 6 yr that will be around $50 and barrel strength.Other than those, I'm drawing a blank on barrel strength and still under $50. squire
Arguably one could say Old Grand Dad 114 is barrel proof (It was so labeled for a time) though Beam usually uses 125 as their barrel entry proof. Still, 114 is pretty darn high.
smknjoe
Damn good pour for $20 bucks around here. OWA used to be barrel proof way back when, too.Edit: and another favorite of mine is Wild Turkey Rare Breed for around $40. GaryT
Since i've been reading this thread I haven't found the first bottle. When I do find it I'll buy two just in case. I've seen it on the shelves exactly twice. First time, I bought a bottle. Tried it that night. Went back to that same store the next day, bought the other two they had (one for my old man). The original release saw 3 going to only 20 stores in Atlanta. Not sure how many came out the second time (I've been in a half-dozen stores multiple times over the past month - never saw it). If I heard that the second batch was as good as the first, I'd buy everything I saw (which I would expect to be in the 1-3 range )

TunnelTiger
I have to assume that only a few selective distributors receive it and then they only pass on to some of their favorite dealers. So you need a dealer that has excellent relationship with his supplier and then be there at the right time.
cowdery
Perhaps an unintended consequence of such broad availability of information is a swarm effect, in which it has become gospel that ECBP is hard to get, so lots of people are buying ahead of need and creating the shortage. The same thing happened with the limited edition Jefferson's and now they're everywhere on BX.
TunnelTiger
Apologies for hi-jacking the thread but I downloaded your Bourbon, Straight to the wife's Kindle last weekend and read the whole thing at one sitting and quite a few pours. Absolutely fascinating and enjoyable read.

If they are indeed selling at good profits, the speculating will only get worse.
GaryT
I called a half-dozen stores after hearing reports of recent sightings, but none to be had. I continue to hold out hope (both of finding more, and hearing a couple folks compare/contrast batch 2 with batch 1!)
