HowboutdemOs
I've bought about 8 and bartered two so far; probably save most of the rest for drinking. I'be actually left a few on shelves recently, but think they are now long gone.

NWBourbonDrinker
Sipped a little more last night. I can pick up a little of the bitter burnt cherry on the finish but can't say it is unpleasant. I will also say I like the nose and entry more every time I drink this. May be growing appreciation or may be the bottle taking air. Either way this is really good stuff. NWBourbonDrinker
Likely a little of both, palate is adjusting along with some air time seems to be improving an already awesome pour. Hmmm, burnt cherry. I'll try and pick that out next session...which is later today of course! :grin:The burnt cherry doesn't exactly scream at me but I can definitely see where the reviewer is coming from. I don't find it detracts from the flavor as this one is all about dark (as the bottle speaks to): dark molasses, dark burnt sugar, and little burn't black cherry on the way out the door. Contrasting with something else full test like WLW Antique emphasizes the darkness. If I had any poppa Stagg I would put them side by side but alas I have not scored a bottle of my own yet. snifred
Get 'em in NoVa at ABC? Which batch/proof? Enjoy.I did, surprisingly, I almost never buy anything at ABC. With Mont Cty so close, I usually go there. Proof is 134.2, so batch 1? Now I understand what all the fuss is about. Might have to go find some more, as I was told of another store that had a fair amount.

Hoping to see batch #2 soon here in the Commonwealth of VA. In the meantime, I continue to hunt Central - SE VA for more #1. Seems like this stuff was a late release in VA. Stock up. mbroo5880i
Someone should develop a map so that we can track what states batch 1 and also batch 2 have been spotted in. Sort of like migratory birds.

P&MLiquorsEric
Again the home team advantage of KY lets me down! Has anyone in KY seen/snagged any in recent weeks?A woefully small recent batch. Single bottles at most places. Meanwhile, sales are brisk at the gift shop.
bllygthrd
Picked up two bottles of batch 2 to go with my two bottles of batch 1. The largest liquor store in WV got 12 bottles of batch 2 ...
bllygthrd
Decided that I would try some ECBP with one cube. I had read that it got cloudy [every other time I had it neat] ... WOW ... looks like fresh pressed/unfiltered apple cider ... BTW, I am very much enjoying it ...
MJB
EJCB Tasting Notes 134.5 vs 137 Click on pictures for a bigger version First off I'm not a expert, what you taste may be totally different than what I taste. I tasted these three ways 1. Neat 2. Neat while progressively adding water 3. Rocks glass with one giant cube 134.5 Nose Sweet Candied Fruit, Toffee, Caramel, Slight Vanilla,(a taste similar to the smell when you open a payday candy bar)(maybe some cream) Taste Chocolate, Candied Nuts, Dried Fruit, Leather, Cherries, Wood Color Dark...Very Dark Almost Mahogany 137 Nose Sweet Candied Fruit, Toffee, Caramel, Slight Vanilla,(a taste similar to the smell when you open a payday candy bar)(maybe some cream) (different than 134.5 not much changed on the nose for me) Taste Chocolate, Candied Nuts, Dried Fruit, Leather, Cherries, Wood (Different than 134.5, Heavier on the nut flavor and more of a burn cherry finish) Color Again very dark, in most light it actually appeared a little darker. I truly think this is a stellar bourbon, I enjoy it as much or more than the uber expensive high end bourbons. This stuff is hard to taste neat with no water, that said I still enjoyed it that way. I prefer it with a cube of ice, it slowly opens up and changes as it melts and it changes a lot from start to finish. Here are a few more pictures to give you an idea of the color. I don't have the most sensitive palate but I hope this helps. I'm not sure if you handed me one by itself if I could tell you which one it is. I would pick up which ever one you can find. Ill be happy to answer any questions I can.
