michaelturtle1
My brother in law gave me a Heady Topper last night so I figured I would lay off the whiskey and drink a few beers tonight.. Started with the Heady Topper and then will follow up with a few Victory Summer Loves
P&MLiquorsEric
Damn,it's close it would be 50/50 on any given night for me any day of the week but I would lean towards the BWB as well.KBS is one of those beers that is highly rated because it was one of the first of its kind. Many many breweries are doing a big barrel aged stout that is as good as KBS. Just like Pliny, hopslam and the other original imperial ipas. They did it first and very well but others have caught up in that category too.
Bourbon Boiler
Had a Sam Adams Black Lagar at the neighbor's house. Since we were watching the kids in the yard while we enjoyed a few, it still counted as parenting.
tanstaafl2
The ones on left are blond. Cognac aged is available in both blond and dark. I have not had any of the blond versions. Drinking a woot stout from stone now. Solid brew.Guess my store doesn't have every variety available as I don't recall seeing a cognac version.Just picked up several W00tstout including the one with the "cartoon" on the bottle. They were just sitting on the shelf happy as you please! Figured it would be harder to get than that. Haven't tried it yet.
smokinghole
I am having a pint of imperial stout I brewed back in 2011. It was aged with brettanomyces yeast and was hopped to hell. Its an awesome brew. Other than that I have some Victory Headwaters on tap. Sent from my C771 using Tapatalk

The Big Bad Baptist I drank tonight can hold its own against any barrel aged stout, as can the Hopulent IPA against any imperial IPA. I can buy those off the shelf right now. Anyone who lives anywhere there's a good microbrewery can say the same about their locals.
MyOldKyDram
Manning the grill w a Mikkeller Breakfast Stout and then an OB Ten Fidy. What? It's the end of July and only like 70 degrees!
WAINWRIGHT
Deschutes Black Butte XXV pretty interesting really, barrel aged with dates and figs which actually comes through and a nice soft bitterness that is with you at the finish, rather complex yet not over done in any way. WAINWRIGHT
Chimay Blue and now some Rochefort 10 moved away from the stouts and porters for just a bit and the trappists are really hitting the spot this evening.

stevegoz
After discovering that two more of my remaining six bottles of Central Waters Peruvian Morning BA Coffee Stout are infected (two years in a row they've had this problem), I cracked open a delicious Founders KBS last night. The remaining Peruvian Morning will be used for simmering the next time I make beer brats.

tanstaafl2
Haven't tried them yet but picked up some of the local Red Brick "Brick Mason #7" 20th Anniversary Barrel Aged Stout along with a newly arrived Clown Shoes Very Angry Beast Barrel Aged Stout. Not exactly summer beers but that may be OK as the beer manager suggested they could use a little time on the shelf, especially the Red Brick. Yeti
I'm really enjoying a Southern Tier Un-Earthly oak aged imperial IPA. It's not too sweet and almost light on the palate. A really well done barrel IPA.
WAINWRIGHT
Laganitas PILS not overly complex but an easy drinker and just enough bitterness on the finish to add a bit of well needed complexity and to keep things interesting. The Dogtown on the other hand I'm a pretty big fan, really great stuff IMO.
