Not bourbon, but did a tasting of some George Dickel this afternoon - the No 8 and No 12. Approached them more thoughtfully than I had my sole purchase of GD in the past, although still walking away thinking "Corn whiskey, eh!" I think if these were labeled as corn whiskey rather than Tennessee whiskey, I would like them more for whatever reason

Makers 46. This is my second or third pour from this bottle (first one or two pours were about a week and a half ago). Still not sure what to think. There's just a weird note on the nose and a corresponding weird flavor note on the palate. I assume this if from the oak staves. Not sure yet how I feel about it but it hasn't grabbed me yet.

I will join the guys above me with some HH6BIB after this to give my taste buds something they like.

Condolences to you, Rich. That's a tough one. A few years ago I lost a cat that had been my companion and the only constant in my life for the 17 years she was here. Funny how we get attached to the critters. I'll be sure to raise a glass to the two of you.

A healthy pour of 2013 OFBB while getting into season five of Justified. I find I drink much more while watching this show than any other except maybe Mad Men. Monkey see monkey do I guess.

found a decent selection at the palms casino last night. had a neat pour of parkers blend of mashbills for the first time, quite nice at 130-131 proof. also a pour neat of bookers,which for the first time ever i found unbalanced and liquid fire....i dont know what batch it was. the barmaid with the long auburn curly hair and skintight black jeans and skintight black leather corset was nice as well....

Today was the first day I felt normal after recovering from the flu. I decided to get back into swing of things with CEHT SmB.

It's a BIB kind of night. HH6BIB for starters and I'm feeling some OGDBIB for the follow up.

I don't know if it's the airtime or a palate adjustment, but the HH6 has really been striking me as a nice pour that punches far above it's weight.

So far:

Crown Royal Hand Selected Rye (Like this more and more)

Balcones Single Malt (Better than many scotches I've tried).

I plan to move on to:

Dalmore King Alex

High West Campfire

Balcones Brimstone

then maybe a little Cognac
