Didn't really purchase them since both were presents from clients - but I can't complain, really!

Certainly wouldn't complain about getting a Blanton's SFTB! The Willet bong bottle on the other hand is, well its an interesting bottle...

Blanton's SFTB is one of my fave Bourbons ever and on contrary to alot of people on here I think the Willet is really a unique and decent Bourbon.

I don't remember ever seeing a TW in Vancouver.  Where is this?  I kept getting stuck next to BC Liquors during my time up there, which had next to nothing on the shelves as far as bourbon went.

Sorry for the confusion in my post - I didn't word it very well. The TW I'm referring to is a little north of Seattle, very far away from Vancouver. What I meant to imply was that since the trip required me to head north on a highway that just so happens to go right past this store, that I just HAD to stop in by matter of convenience. I know my bourbon brethren understand.

Ah.  That makes more sense indeed.  I probably should have gotten that from the get go.  Thanks for the clarification, though.

I went into the liquor store thinking about Evan Williams Single Barrel, flirted with the idea of a 750 of Henry McKenna, and as I put the EW on the counter, some Elijah Craig 12 caught my eye. After I was some $30 lighter in the wallet, I walked out with the EC12. I had a couple doubles on the rocks, I'm a heathen in that way, and I have to say that the posts on the BOTM thread were correct. It is a tasty pour.

After reading the glowing reviews in the Bourbon of the Year thread, and finally seeing it in the store near where I work, I decided to give JDSBBP a try and picked up a bottle.  Hopefully it's worth the $69.50 after tax that I paid for it.

So, I guess you got the 131pf? I liked this one- opened up after a few days. The ABC on Hope Valley has a different barrel, 129.x pf.  Overall, I like this one better than Stagg Jr. (surprisingly, and if it were only $50 I would feel even better about it) but it is a distant second to the Barrell Bourbon #5 that is still on the shelves around here.

Two handles of EC12 (with the 12 on the front)

One ECBP

One JDSBBP (131.5)

Two 750s of a 1792 store selected barrel

One handle of the same store's Buffalo Trace barrel selection

Needed to re-stock a bit after the holidays.

2 bottles of Old Fitz 12 (with the older plastic top rather than the wax, and also a lot cloudier than the waxed...) and a Michter's Toasted Barrel for funsies.

Went into a local shop to see if they had an old label EC 12.  No luck.  Stumbled on a sale: RHF out the door for $39.90.  Nice consolation prize.

Nice!  I have never even seen a bottle of SFTB.  I sure wish they would release some of that in the US.

Actually, I got it at the store on Hope Valley, so I got the 129.5.  I'm really liking it right off the bat.  I'd like to try the Barrell Bourbon, but it's like $80+, right?

just got these budget champions! I absolutely love the EW BIB  - more than the single barrels I think. It reminds me alot of the old WT101 8 Year but with that classic cake frosting taste that is so Heaven Hill!

The Charter is classic Buffalo Trace. Desert-like, almond, custardy goodness. Maybe a little harsh on the back but I kinda like that. Together with WT101, FRSB and BT my absolute budget kings!

If you act fast, they have both batches 5 and 6 of Barrell Bourbon on the shelf right now, there is a review of both on breakingbourbon.com that praises the 6 over the 5, but both are excellent-  I just opened a batch 6 last night and it has certainly got that 'something special' about it, will be amazing I think after a week of air time. Price is a kick in the crotch, but it sure beats chasing unicorns.

Two Elijah Craig's with the 12 on the back, EC18, and CEHTSB. Haven't had the SB yet.

Went out for a barrel pick of 1792 which the first time I tried it a long time ago wasn't that great but since this was a barrel pick and around 8 trs. old I decided to try it @ $26.99, checked out the EC12 which still had the 12 on the back @$31.99 ..yikes! So went down the road and checked a few more Ls 's out found some EC12 (backside) on sale for $26.99 ..took all 10. I'm set for the year I think.

I also stopped at another place and was checking out the OF BIB for $46.99 and the tag said if you bought 12 or more it was $28, I knew this had to be a mistake, but I asked for a case anyway, they didn't have one. I'm going to check back next week and see if it still says the same. Because that is a great deal if it is true, I really like that stuff.

Not a bourbon, but I bought a bottle of Crown Royal today. It was on sale for $20.00. Like me, my son likes CR, so it's basically a present for him.

Cheers! Joe
