Also, I did not mean to get more RR SiB.n. Really, I did not. But. Uber dropped me off at FedEx Office (Kinkos) to print some flyers. It was closed for lunch, state of the labor market & all. And it was right across the street from Leukens in Tampa. Across. The. Street. Beckoning. Like a siren. So over I went. Everywhere I go, the RR SiB's are now $60 - $70 for the regular version, and $80+ for store picks. These were on the shelf for $52. I figured I'd not see that price again, and I really do like 'em as daily drinkers. Went to ring them up. $60 per bottle! Thankfully they honored the shelf price. So I got 4. Happy camper. Does this qualify as MBroo-ish behavior? Probably not. I'll bet he get them for $20 at those supermarket sales. Haha, my supermarket doesn't carry stuff like this. Even the Cheap Bastard would look to pick up a bottle of NCF WTRB, especially a 1-liter bottle at that price.

Skinsfan1311
I finally pulled the trigger. I've wanted to try it for a long time, blew the dust out of my wallet, and snagged it. It chafes my cheap-ass, but I had to have it.
smokinjoe
I haven’t purchased a Booker’s in I don’t know how long. And honestly, I’ve argued the merits of its increased price to $100 more times than I’ve actually bought bottles of it over the years… Grabbed one today at the $100, and look forward to opening it in a couple hours.
IamMatt
I also hadn't bought Booker's for a long time but I found the 2022-03 Tea Batch for $80. so I tatered and bought one.

Damn you. If you talk adoringly about this I'll be fidgeting in my seat as I try to reconcile my anti Booker's position.

JakeySnakes
Given all the chatter i've been reading on how good the C922 is, it was a no brainer to grab the last bottle my local had at 69.99.

markandrex
These arrived this morning from the Barreled & Boxed program. The Bookers is a Fred’s Pick which is outside of the normal offerings. Edited December 10, 2022 by markandrex
Anwalt
Well another kid is graduating from OSU. That's good in so many ways. It will crimp the Ohio tatering. But they had a heck of a day today! $50 for WFP. The Peerless SiB's were a bit more, but came well recommended from one of you. Gave one (not in pic) to the kids to open up and try. Gotta get what we can out of them, little buggers aren't cheap.

CaptTim
Made a few stops today, Found a couple well known winners and a couple unknowns that came highly recommended. Now the big dilemma, what bottle to open for tonight's pour..

It was bottled in August 2022. It is already past its expiration date. I hope it was on clearance. Actually, it looks pretty good. OBSK and OESK are my two favorite recipes. It has a relatively low proof for a FR Barrel Strength. I have always found the lower proof FR Barrel Strengths to be the best. However, I am not certain I recall ever seeing one less than 110 proof.

Yup, I was rather surprised by the proof. And while some of you (you know who are) have successfully converted me into a partial proof hound (I started by not being able to bear anything over 90 proof, grew up on Scotch), I found that I so far prefer 4R at lower proof. But that's from a one-time tasting, so small sample size. And I notice that my palate changes over time. A very recent example: The first 4 times I tried HH7, I did not care for it. 5th time, yesterday, it really struck me as nice. So could be I end up liking 4R at higher proofs, just need to, umm, "practice" some more. 1 hour ago, mbroo5880i said: It is already past its expiration date. I hope it was on clearance. Lolz. Sounds like a Cheap Bastard explanation that might work to finagle a better price in a shop! I'll try it and let you know how it goes. In other news, glad to seeing you enjoying the ECBP C922. I think those are excellent. What hooked me on ECBP was that first taste this past summer in the HH "Bottle Your Own" tour. They of course had their best for that event. And their best was very good indeed. ECBP was also the first higher proof bourbon that I consistently liked. The extra flavor & viscosity seem to outweigh the extra heat; I really think it drinks below its proof.
Thomm
This little fella was hiding behind a Willet Straight Rye and a Calumet 15. Will be yet another first for me. To be honest (as the kids like to say) I saw the stopper and top of the neck and thought I had found a hidden John J Bowman.
