HipFlask
The wife was on a Wine mission tonight so while she was shopping a nice box set of 98 EWSB with a flask/Cigar tube was picked up. I also replenished some of the the standbys since i was running low on 20 to 30 dollar bourbons so some WT101, Ritt BIB, and Booker's came home with me. V.nice! :grin:This is my party bourbon at the moment. Cheap enough to share out to people mixing or having a shot and interesting enough to sip away at. It is surprisingly good for how it is packaged and the price point. I put it well ahead of the other bourbons at its price point that I have tried. MissingKY
Went dusty hunting...turned up a 1.75 of Old Fitz BIB with a real tax stamp! It has both ml and ounce measurements on it, so it must be from the very early 80s. I've got one other bottle of Old Fitz BIB from this era that Greg Gilbert very graciously traded me, and it's wonderful. I'm pretty stoked. independant
I picked up a bottle of rebel reserve today. It just started being stocked in VA this month. I have been looking forward to getting this bottle because rebel yell was one of the first bourbons I ever had and I remember it better then it is now so hopefully this one will live up to the memory of that old one. Did you flip the bottle over and look for the two digit date? When oriented correctly, it should be in the lower right corner of the bottom. Let me know what you find. MissingKY
Greg,I did, and I was a little confused by it. It's a legit federal tax stamp with numbers and everything, and the bottle has both metric and standard units on it. Those two things would make me think it's from the 1980-81 range. The number on the bottom of the bottle is an 84, though, and there's a UPC on the bottle. I'm not quite sure how that jives with my normal rules of thumb for dating bottles. Oh, well, the real important number is DSP-KY-16. I've got another six or seven liters of faux-tax-stripped Old Fitz BIB from around 1991-92, and they've been delicious so far. Special Reserve
I recovered a couple of WTRR 101 and a Rebel Yell with a 88076 UPC code.I left 3 WTRR 101 to share. I also left a IW Harper handle with a fake tax strip IIRC.Will

That '84 will give you many good pours.
CajunKY
I made it by Julio's today and picked up a bottle of Eagle Rare, Rock Hill Farms, and Weller 12. I would have grabbed a couple more if the wife hadn't stopped me.
independant
I took a few hours yesterday to make a trip to the next city over to me so that I could visit some of the other state controlled liquor stores in my state. I came away with four bottles I can't get locally. WT 101 RyeOld Overholt EWSB 97Rock hill farmsThis was the first RHF bottle I have ever seen and I now understand why people say it is one of the prettiest decanters out there. hectic1
My neighbors picked me up a bottle of Pappy 15yr and a bottle of Woodford Reserve for my b-day...I would say it was a good take. Binny's is having their quarterly 15% off day today so Pappy 20, Lot B, ORVW, and Russel's Reserve are all on the list!
G-Rat
I am a dirty scoundrel...scraping the bottom shelf of the liquor store for the good stuff.Bought a bottle of Old Heaven Hill Bonded. It is from 2008. Tastes a whole lot like the Current Old Fitz Bonded...with maybe a little more rye and maybe a little more caramel peanut toffee goodness. $20 is an unbelievable price for a handle of this stuff. My new favorite low dollar bourbon for sure.

CygnusX-1
Have a buddy with a military ID and he took me to the military package store. They have a pretty small bourbon selection but the prices are cheeper that the ABC and since its military there is no tax! Got a 1.75 liter MM For $40.00 (not the biggest fan, but couldent resist at that price), A JB Black for 19.00 (Never had it but hear it is much better than the white so i figured what the hell), and a EW BIB white label for 11.99 (always good to have an inexpensive BIB on hand). And i almost always pick up a KC when im there cause it only 25.99 there (its like 36+tax at the ABC) but decided to pass cause i got 2 in the bunker, but regreated it as soon as i got home:hot:

B3Nut
Picked up a bottle of Weller SR, single-barrel special bottling from Everett's in Beloit (thanks for the tip Joe!.) Might have to do a side-by-side with what's left of the regular bottling tonight.
CajunKY
Probably a long shot but if anyone comes across a Four Roses 40th please let me know. Its the only variety from them I don't have and haven't tried. I should be getting some Japanese market bottles in a couple of weeks and want to do a "Four Roses" round table. B3Nut
Picked up another bottle of the '99 EWSB selected by Steve's Liquor in Madison for the bunker, while it's still $21.99. I tried this bottle on a lark and found it to be a light, enjoyable, and elegant whiskey. This the first time I've bunkered a bottle of anything...up to this point any bottle I've brought home has been opened and tasted, and put into the rotation. OscarV
I was in KY on Sunday and got a few things via trade and commerence.Met face to face with some SB.com people at DougDog's place also met some bourbon historians and bottlers, whom I knew and knew of, now I can call them friends.(1) Harper BHC gold vein bottle, actually in a trade with Mike of MA it finally made it to me after changing hands.(2) Wild Turkey Kentucky Spirit, The Bourbon Society bottle, the good one, not the WW bottle. When asked what went wrong with the WW bottle Jimmy Russell said that, I am paraprasing, "The boys took some liberites with someone else's whiskey."(3) Four Roses Single Barrel, The Bourbon Society bottle, one of the members heard I was looking for one and got it for me and I did not know it until Sunday.(4 & 5) Four Roses Yellow Label 750 ml because they had no 1.75 handles and two JTS Brown BIB.I stopped at The Liquor Barn in Louisville on Monday for these and some Weller 12yo but no Weller 12 was available.
