I use old eht tubes to transport bottles around too. I stumbled on this completely by accident. I was getting things ready to head down to the KBF or Sampler many years ago. I used an old booze box that had the cardboard dividers in it to pack everything in. I was grabbing a couple of the green plastic mesh bottle covers to slide over my bottles. A Blanton’s bag stuck to them as I was pulling them out of my “bourbon junk drawer”. I started to put it back in the drawer when the light bulb went on. Glad I had three or four Blanton’s bags. I always take two glasses with me in case I break one. Yet another pro tip there. Biba! Joe

Skinsfan1311
A buddy of mine , who has never disappointed me with his picks, selected this one. It's a 7 year, (it was picked and bottled back in early '21...the distillery "lost" this barrel). I've never had Old Elk, but the guy who picked it has a great palate ,(or one that is aligned with mine anyway), so I snagged one. I'm sorely tempted to break my "no alcohol during the week" rule tonight.
elmossle
Nothing special, just some Elijah Craig Small Batch because it was on sale. Didn't need it, but hard to pass up good booze on sale in this current environment of rising prices.

Ain’t it crazy how the differences between need, want, pricing and availability continually makes some of us go “Hmmmm.” Biba! Joe
0895
Brought another one of these home. Not that it’s anything exceptional, but it is typically very close in taste profile to the old 90p ER17. Anyway, I enjoy it.

Later in the evening when I went to do the sbs my palate was way off so neither of them tasted great. Fast forward to this morning. I've noticed that if I drink some decaf coffee after dinner and then go to bourbon that whatever I pour tastes as good as it ever has. Well, my wife is out of town so she can't judge a morning pour. I've been drinking coffee and my palate is fresh so I tried both. I agree that the 14 is better. The 15 is drier and some might find it on the edge of being tannic. However the 15 is still a great whiskey that I like quite a lot and the price is a winner. Makes sense. I remember a Buffalo Trace rep once told me at a store tasting that he uses coffee to clear his palate, ...or maybe it was coffee beans he used between nosings, I can't recall now

I hadn't thought about 90 proof ER17, but I did sorta taste a little of WTMK BiB in it, sort of a cherry pie note. I agree, nothing earth shattering in this bottle, but I find it a pleasant pour too.

Bourbon replaced the coffee over time so it had been a while since I had after dinner coffee at home. I'm trying to drink less bourbon during the week to help with weight loss so I restarted the after dinner coffee and then will have a bourbon nightcap. I discovered on that first night how remarkable the bourbon tasted. I've heard of using coffee beans as a re-set for your nose but did not realize it extended to the liquid as well.
PaulO
The stars aligned yesterday and I realized I had a rare opportunity to go hunt Indy's North side stores. I ended up with a 1.75L of Rebel 100, and one of Teacher's Highland Cream, plus some nice beers. That big bottle of Rebel 100 is something else. I just barely got it into the cabinet, only like an inch to spare. $33 and change for family size 100 proof wheat Bourbon. This still reminds me of HH Old Fitz BIB, from before the fancy decanters.
Kyjd75
Today I was able to buy a couple of bottles of regular Blanton's from my good friend Eric (Mammoth Liquors--formerly Packages & More). Been a long time around here since I was able to do that. Stashing one away for safe keeping--the other . . . hmmmm, I'm not sure yet. We'll see.
bayouredd
I thought I would give MGP a try. I am sick of the gifted TW MGP that I seem to get for my BDay, Christmas, etc. None of it makes me want to repurchase except the Remus V. (bought that myself) I went for a George Remus for $41. I also realized that I have little 95 proof and below & kind of want easy sipping, at times.

elmossle
Not today, but yesterday I was able to get a bottle of ECBP private single barrel with the help of a fellow SBer who may, or may not, be our man of the year. Sadly, obtaining this bottle was not the highlight of the day. That would be spending lunch and getting to catch up while having an absolutely wonderful time enjoying great food and drinks! Truly what this community is all about!!
IamMatt
I went to my local BevMo for a bottle of OF 100 and asked the clerk if they ever got ECBP A122 or B522 in. He said he thought they just got it but hadn't put it out yet, so he went back and grabbed one for me. Turns out it was not A122 or B522.

Got a bunch of these 11yr Private Barrel picks from Wegman's last month - sooo much better than the last year's ECBP batches (IMHO, of course). $74.99 OTD. WW boys also bought a bunch when they were available. Had some last night, even. Hope your barrel is as great as ours was. There's also an 8yr Barrel Proof Wegman's pick (came out after the 11yr bottles were sold out) that pales in comparison to the 11yr - also at $74.99 OTD. They're still on the shelves - poor marketing, methinks.
RT Fan
Grabbed a bottle of Angel’s Envy the other day for $40, 9 bucks less than the last one I bought. A veritable bargain given the way prices are going these days. I should have bought 2.
fosmith
This morning went online and ordered a couple of bottles of Jack Daniels Single Barrel Barrel Proof from K&L. This has become the go to favorite barrel proofer in the Smith household and my wife's absolute favorite. Thus, a bottle doesn't last long here and our small stash of these is quickly dwindling. With Stagg Jr. Booker's, ECBP, etc. becoming so hard to find and/or so expensive, I love that this is still obtainable. I hope it stays that way..

Apparently, the Bell Meade Reserve is being discontinued; actually the entire Bell Meade brand is. It's being rebranded as, I think, Nelson Brothers'. The Reserve will reportedly be still sourced from MGP but will slightly different proof. Hopefully, it will be as good as Belle Meade Reserve. It is great whiskey. My favorite as well, of the others that you list. It’s a bit hard to find here in Atlanta, from time to time, but generally comes back around as soon as I start entering withdrawals for it. I think I might say that it is my current favorite whiskey of any type on my bar.

Rhettro
Right place, right time. I was purchasing a vacuum at Bed, Bath & Beyond when the Virginia ABC limited release email dropped. The store right next door was about to sell whatever limited release bottles that they had in stock. Strolled over and stumbled into a BBC Discovery #7. I’ve found it on the shelf in other states, but VA is doing things differently, so I was quite happy to come home with this bad boy. I also purchased a 1.75mL of EC SmB for $46.99 - 20% off of the standard retail price. Three day holiday weekend sale apparently. I might go back for more before the weekend is over.
