The boy is at the house for Thanksgiving, and made a beeline for the bunker and grabbed this one. Had a beef Barolo (with salad, oven baked garlic & potatoes, and pumpkin pie) that was spectacular. Wifey & her twin sister (who owns a restaurant) used a slightly modified version of the Americas Test Kitchen (which we love) recipe. Used to be that I would not do this dish because Barolo is normally so expensive. But we found it so cheap at Costco ($20 each, see pic below, very drinkable as well) that we bought 20 just to be able to make this dish for the next few years. So, so very good. And cheap enough that even MBroo might use it for cooking! Had a nice Veuve Cliquot before dinner, a Del Dotto Cab during, and a sweet Austrian Beerenauslese for dessert.
