What rye are you drinking/ purchased 2023

Unless they only produced 1 barrel that day, what they show would best be described as a Lot Number, not a Barrel Number.  Those guys seem too sharp to label multiple barrels with the same Barrel Number, no?

If you click the link with the little top bar it should take you to page 15. Where we discussed this very thing.

I did.  But as I read down the thread, it gets even more confusing… So, what is the answer?

They don't mark a barrel #.  Just a barreled on and bottled on date. Prior to 2019 it was only barreled on date. So you will see many bottles with different proofs all with the same info on their barrel # space.

So, the barrel number on the label means nothing in regards that what comes out of a bottle that gives numbers do not pertain to a barrel as we understand what a barrels content is?

Seriously, I’m not trying to be overly pedantic on this, but I’m really just trying to understand.

Bought this several years ago and finally got around to opening it this past Friday.

Single Barrel and Sweet Mash, so probably won’t find another one.

Really darn good!

Now I'm curious about mine.  I believe I picked this up in 2020.  Different kind of barrel code.

So according to that text I copied from a few years back: barreled March 9th 2015, and bottled some time in 2020, but was definitely among the barrels bottled in the morning.

Kind of sloppy on their part, if we understanding correctly.  As I said above, it is more of a Lot Number, if anything.

The sp bottles have real barrel #s though, and pretty much all the info you could want.

Celebrating the end of a nightmare.

Don't let the door kick you in the ass on the way out, Danny!

Sorry, the name Redskins is gone forever.  Maybe the Washington Rye?

Is it really a rye?  Dunno if it "counts", but we really liked it.  One of the few whiskies the Wifey will drink.  Never knew what it meant to "malt" something, now I know after a little googling.

Sweet, smooth, with a bit of the rye-rye taste at the end.

We shall finish the bottle shortly.  It shall be replaced.

Trying to understand what you mean but I'm interested in the question.  I'm not an expert on rye either.  I haven't had that one (only their bourbon so far).  I have a Chattanooga Rye that touts their malting process a lot. Now I'll have to read the details on the bottle to learn more and maybe compare it to the NR malted rye to see if they follow a similar process.

They should've just left the name alone and not caved to a handful of...nevermind...this isn't the the thread for that!

Any change sucks...but that would've been less painful than the Commanders.   Honestly, I preferred "Washington Football Team" over the crap name that they have now.

Well that name was pretty offensive to a whole bunch of folk I regularly interact with. What they should have done is occasionally changed the name between many racial slurs... Then at least it would be fair.

Oh yeah, right, I bought an alberta premium today.
