Stopped into my local emporium this afternoon and the fall 2018 Chattanooga BiB has arrived so one came home with me. I liked the first BiB release but it sold out before I got any and however many there have been since then, I've been too busy or distracted to notice. I have found I like Chatts releases very much. I've had all the standard releases at the distillery while working in town and I've purchased a couple of the experimental distillery exclusive single barrels (straight whiskeys, not the various infusion type releases they also frequently do) on various visits. I'm looking forward to spending time with this latest BiB expression.

That is a town I haven't heard about in a LOOONG TIME!!! I played soccer in college with 2 guys from Mt. Horeb. I know one now lives in Alabama and not sure if his folks still live there or not.

A few years back I bought a bottle of the standard Coopers' Craft and didn't care for it.

A fellow SBer agreed with my sentiment, but stated that the recent releases of the 100proof version are very  good, so I snagged one.

It was a beautiful day and we decided to take a drive to see if we could find an EC 923.

Once again we struck out, but apparently southern middle TN was deluged with Blanton's Gold and SFTB this week.

Each of our top three shops had Gold store picks, and one had SFTB.  It was wonderful  to walk in and see them sitting there and not at museum prices.

The weird part is all of them are either B or L tops.🤷‍♂️

As I posted in the “What Did You Pass On” thread, we stopped at Schnuck’s to grab a bag of ice for use on Thursday. Saw the manager, and long story short, an ER came home with me. Paid $38.99, which is about normal around here.  🦅

This is bull shit I tell you.  Just pure bull shit.  We never see Blantons or anything other than an occasional BT or ER in Indy.  I am calling Harlen Wheatley tomorrow and putting a stop to this ...ish.  We need more in Indy and less in Rocket f'ng City.   JK, nice scores.  Enjoy!

Old Bardstown BIB from Kroger in Richmond, KY.  I've heard this is Kentucky only, but it doesn't seem too hard to get there.  Another new experience for me, anyway.  As always, I'll give ya my uneducated two cents when I get around to popping it open.

Funny story.

I took one of these as a "bunker clunker" to a young person party recently to leave behind.

We cracked it open for the shot ski because I'm not taking Jager, and damn if it wasn't pretty good.

Later on a few people asked me why I brought such a good bottle for shots.

I had several more sipping pours out of it before leaving and I'm not sure it survived much longer after I left.

J.Henry for me this fall. Best Wisconsin has to offer, it's all excellent.

Will be there this Friday for their release party for the 2023 Anniversary Blend.

Brother in law’s Octoberfest party involves 3-4 small apartment buildings on his block as well as lots of coworkers/friends.  So, yes the mrs. was there.

I guess I should probably clarify that while some attendees are of the younger generation, most of them just party like they are still in college.

🤣

Had 15 minutes to kill so I stopped by a Binnys near a relatives house and scored a lone Baker’s 13 at retail price, which was still spendy but not the tater prices everyone else has for this bottle I’ve seen locally

This was my post in the “What Did You Pass On?” thread the other day.

“Quick trip to Schnuck’s to grab a bag of ice for use on Thursday. Passed on a  EHT Small Batch. I think the price was between $45.00 and $50.00.  It was in the back.”

I then posted here that I opted for a bottle of ER. Well, I was on an emergency mission today. My wife and granddaughter are making more “goodies” for tomorrow. I went to Schnuck’s to get a couple more bags of chocolate chips. Sooooo….. bourbon and chocolate chips came home with me. The Taylor was $46.99. 😁 Happy Thanksgiving y’all!
